Honestly I'm not inclined to give them very much credit on that one since they immediately undid it. It was a great match where Finn looked like he easily could have won it and Brock won in a fairly fluky way for sure.... but then right after it Brock just completely stopped selling and beat him to death with no difficulty at all, and Finn wasn't even slightly considering revenge the next night.

I imagine the briefcase thing was to just get it out of the way. Kofi doesn't need his reign affected by the briefcase looming over what is now, ultimately, the build to "who will take the belt off Kofi." Seth and Brock's match was being built to cement Seth as THE guy, period, full stop, and having someone else hanging out in the background saying UH DON'T FORGET HURR HURR I'M GONNA CASH IN ON YA hurts that, and they know it.
With both reigns in a spot where they'd be hurt by it, but not wanting to axe the MITB event because...well, it's money...it was easier to just build it as how Lesnar got his rematch in the era of "no instant rematches" and get the briefcase out of the way so they could focus on Rollins.

Yeah that too. I'm glad things are changing with his character. I mean, if he's going to be used then use him in ways the fans like IE today. The common denominator is Brock is working with guys smaller than him and he is busting his ass to make it work. It has been said that is his preference and you see why because he can sell and feed for them as opposed to working with guys his size where it is more a slugfest
Right. It's a better overall story that people can relate to more.

What happened after the match doesn't take away from what happened in the match however. When the match was going on it told a great story and yeah, Finn looked like he could win which is the point. That's far different than when Lesnar was just downing guys years prior.

They wanted to do a real match between the two since mania was overshadowed by Becky/Kofimania ect and truly put Rollins over as top dog. I think the Brock MITB scenario ended up just fine But they could have just done that without any of the MITB shit. Lesnar just has to be like: “dude, you kicked me in the dick!” Then Seth goes: “‘Kay, let’s settle this, bro.” BOOM! SummerSlam. If you would have presented the "dude, you kicked me in the dick" line to Vince, you would probably be named head writer, win a Slammy, and get Shane's table spot at the McMahon family Thanksgiving dinner.

I hope this will mark a different attitude for Seth. Having a credible win is a big feather in his cap, and something that addresses a lot of the problems he's had. I do hope he's going to cut down on the whiny tone in promos, or even better, just stop giving him as many promos and let his wrestling speak for itself more often. Also, dear god, give him a credible feud that isn't something we've seen 249 times. Honestly I'm not inclined to give them very much credit on that one since they immediately undid it. That's honestly not really what happened, though, in my opinion. He put Balor in the kimura, being like the one guy Brock had used that on in ages, the move he shelved Triple H with, because Balor had hurt him too much to really rely on the F5. Like, it wasn't perfect, but it wasn't typical Brock bullshit, either. There was a bit more to it. Obviously, this is a bit subjective, though.

Oh yeah, I know that, I'm more talking about the post-match and the follow-up. Match itself made Balor look great and Brock catching him offguard with the Kimura was a good finish.

Rollins didn't look like an idiot chump in that match at all. Actually throughout the match it was about him outsmarting and out-wrestling Lesnar. They made Rollins very smart in this match. Why are you saying he was an idiot in the match? Exactly this. Seth had Brock’s shit scouted. He flipped out of multiple Germans, he got out of the F5, he got Brock into the post at least twice, and he avoided the announce table spot and instead put Brock through it. Seth was prepared for Brock and looked like an ace out there. Awesome they did the flip out of the German spot?

I actively hate Rollins, and even though I'm glad the title will be back on TV now, I wish The Fiend had been the one to take Lesnar out. The rub from that would've been amazing, and you have a new 'full time' final boss on your hands.
Instead we got Lesnar "Big Show'ing" himself by running into shit over and over, and then Rollins wins.
And he's not Cena levels of bad, but Rollins really needs to work on selling more. Or, rather, remembering to sell.
His ribs hurt, then they didn't, then they did, then he's standing up as if nothing is wrong. When he sells he's good, but he always forgets, and not in the "adrenaline" kinda way.
But at least Lesnar put someone over clean finally, so there's that.

I think of this as Lesnars first decisive loss. When Goldberg beat him the whole story was that Lesnar was caught off guard. When he wasn't (at WM) he became the first man to ever beat Goldberg clean.

I hate that it was Rollins. He's a f***ing geek, and I can't buy him pulling off anything Roman Reigns or AJ Styles couldn't. This just reeks of 1996 HBK booking. No one is going to buy this crybaby wuss as a dude who kicks the shit out of monsters longterm.

I'm happy with the result, I really am, but like... what on earth was the point of 'Beast in the Bank' Lesnar, then?
Wouldn't it have made for more interesting TV if Rollins just retained the Universal title thru Wrestlemania - Summerslam while someone like Big E or Kevin Owens had money in the bank?

My guess on Beastie Boy having the case? How do you have your biggest ratings mover and dude with the most mainstream name recognition on the show all of the time when he is only part time? You give him the briefcase and voila! He could be on the show anytime cashing in on Rollins.
So glad that Rollins beat Lesnar clean. I was expecting a repeat of 2014 and Seth getting beaten to death with his own skull, but never imagined him actually winning, not after the last few weeks of being Brocks bitch.

I still don’t understand the do over. They already crowned Rollins and corronated him as the man who can slay the beast. Why did we need to do this again?

Great match
Brock is still awesome
I think Rollins is one of the few guys Brock doesn't have a one on one clean pinfall over.
Wouldn't mind a 3 match series here

It’s just funny how things always turn out the complete opposite of how I would like with this company. I wanted Braun to be the one to beat Lesnar clean when he was at his peak in popularity. But of course they have to just give it to quite possibly the most unlikable douchebag on the roster. I liked Rollins at one time but now I just have go away Xpac Heat with him these days. It’s like yeah he can put on good matches but so what, there’s dozens of others that have good matches too. His promos are the drizzling shits & he’s just very unlikeable. I never thought I’d say it but I even like Reigns more now since he’s been tolerable lately as just a mid card guy.
