Dean Malenko, I was a kid who just wanted to see straight up wrestling and I loved the way he did it. I would end up loving Austin and Taz more but as an introduction it was Dean

Although I tangentially knew who guys like Hogan, Piper, Savage, and Flair were, the match that made me a fan was Scorpio-Benoit at SuperBrawl III. We had family in from out of town who loved WCW so one of my parents bought the PPV and after that match, I was hooked for a long time. It helped that the next night was when Hogan returned on Raw (after being gone for a year, but I didn't realize that until later). I devoured as much WWF and WCW programming and as many Aptermags as I could.
There was also a quasi-kayfabe radio show in my area that occasionally delved into behind the scenes stuff (likely courtesy of Meltzer and Keller in hindsight) which educated me a bit from the outset and helped me appreciate pro wrestling for what it is.

At first it was Lawler. Seeing his late 70s stuff had me caught. Then it became Steve Dr Death Williams. In my area Hogan wasn't that well liked by kids. Part of it was our parents. TO them WWF was "that fake ass shit from up north." and Memphis and JCP were legit. Plus why give a crap about a guy with 3 moves when we were seeing so much better wrestlers each week.

Bret made everything look crisp and real. He had a cool jacket (I'm talking WM7) and he could hang with everyone, no matter their size. Always deservedly in a title scene too. However, being a kid in the UK when he lost at Summerslam 92 was not fun

My first wrestling memory is Macho Man turning on Hogan. I was almost five. But I had to be watching before that cause I knew who everyone was.
I didn’t fall in love until Warrior.

Taker and Kane (and Paul Bearer). I loved the aesthetic and mythology of their backstory, as well as their matches.

Hulk Hogan. Having him associated with Mr.T and on the A-Team was genius. Most kids my age were huge Mr.T fans already and you add the Hulkster to that? Dynamite.

I'd be lying if I said it was anyone other than Hogan..... hell, it was him going to the NWO that got me back into it after the lull in the mid 90s. However, I quickly found Stone Cold and moved over to the WWF

I doubt many will be able to agree with me but MVP. When I started watching what hooke dme was mainly MVP ,Festus and a side of Rey Mysterio The introduction of MVP was awesome. Him ending up being pretty good was icing on the cake for me.

It was a six-man tag team match. I can't remember everyone that was in it, but it had Hogan, Sting, Nash and Sid. WCW, Spring of '99.
Sting was the main thing that kept me watching. I remember waiting the whole show next week for him to show up, to assist Hogan in pinning Rick Steiner in a title match against Sid Vicious. No, that wasn't a typo.

As a kid it was The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. I stopped watching when The Attitude Era ended.
Then I saw The Shield and got interested again, and I also really like Kenny Omega so that's why I came back at the beginning of 2019.

Jerry Lawler and George the ANimal Steele.
Steele was in the first match I saw and I became a huge fan of him. But didn't get to see WWF every week. Lawler I saw every week on Memphis TV and he was amazing.

Kind of a weird way. My brother was a big wrestling fans before I was. I started getting into it early 90s. Wrestlemania 6 was the first show I remember legit watching. Of course my brother rented videos all the time when we went to the movie rental stores. But that was the first I sat in on. I wouldn't say any one wrestler for that show got me hooked at first. More a handful of guys got me interested in. This was months after it happened, but I remember this event, Followed by Survivor Series 90, so Undertaker debut. I don't remember a lot from 91 outside of Series 91 Taker vs Hogan being a big part of me watching. So, 92 was a big year on it but I knew I wanted to see more of it. Piper stood out at WM 6 young me didn't realize the meaning of why he was painted like that, I just loved the crazy brawl they had. However Royal Rumble 92 was another stand out event, Piper again stood out. Now Survivor Series 91 was also rented a lot. So Undertaker vs. Hogan was seeing a lot and of course Piper had a role as well with his team.
From there on just going back and watching all the events before and going forward. I loved the craziness of Piper who made him my all time favorites. I have my moments as a big mark for Taker, Diesel, and babyface HBK in later 95 on. Taker was always a favorite. I look back on that Diesel run and thought I was crazy, lol. Monday night wars I was more WCW side so of course I loved it when Piper showed up and loved Crow Sting. Those two where my had to watch guys. DDP grew on me as well. WWE side Austin, Taker, Rock, and D-X.
The one thing I can say is that I never liked Hogan. That's an honest statement and still don't. I can respect what he did for wrestling but still never a favorite.

Stone Cold and The Rock in 1997/1998.
I’d known of Hogan when I was even younger...but I never got drawn into wrestling until Austin and Rock in the peak of the attitude era.
Was just their personalities. The charisma. In hindsight, it’s a bit of a bitch for two of the greatest ever to be the bar lol..

Chris Jericho 100 percent. Lionhart Chris Jericho was so different than all the other bad guys in wrestling at the time. One of the few not in the NWO, incredible in the ring, and in on the mic.
