Jesus Christ. I just relistened and he reads it pretty damn straight. I must have tuned it out last time. Oof. Well, this is a thing that all of us didn't need to learn. I read this damn book too and didn't even notice.

Can I get more on this, plz? I just reread that part, I was partially wrong about what he said but yeah, here's what he said word for word in the book: "It is my belief that due to modern medicine, humans have stopped evolving in a way that produces healthier adults. I say this because many children who two hundred years ago would have died are now living to successfully reproduce. They thus pass on their genetic deficiencies to their children, who then pass them on to their children, and so on and so forth. I am one of those children: sick my entire childhood and even still often sick as an adult. Without modern medicine, I would have surely passed before I could procreate. Who knows, I still might. Regardless, I affectionately refer to myself as a defect. Bri is also a defect. I will let her explain her own defectiveness in her own book, should she choose to write one. Before we started dating, I pointed this out to her, and also told her it would be genetically irresponsible of us to have children as it would weaken the evolution of humans going forward. What we should be doing as a species is breeding intelligent superathlettes, like having John Cena make babies with Jackie Joyner-Kersee. It became our little joke, both of us being defects. And we will, at some point, try our best with the de-evolution of our species." The last line's meaning skipped my notice because I was distracted with what he'd said before that, but yeah. This.

The best thing that happened to the Shockmaster was him falling down. The gimmick was shit and at least that debut was interesting. They were expecting Fred Ottman in a sparkly Stormtrooper mask to be taken seriously, which would’ve failed badly even if he had his entrance without the trip.

Fun fact - DX lost to the Harris Twins on the same night they "invaded" WCW with a "Tank".

What was the response online like to how weird Smackdown got in 04, particularly like Big Show killing Angle and Undertaker killing Paul Bearer?

Foley Rock was entertaining but not quite the legend its built up as. The dx jeep stuff was really just kinda boring after the first couple minutes. We all knew it was going nowhere and surprise, it went nowhere.

A lot of people felt the brand had a sharp decline after Lesnar left, and Eddie lost the WWE Title to JBL, who had only recently changed from the Bradshaw character after splitting from Ron Simmons. JBL was a career tag team/mid-card guy, so it felt very abrupt for him to suddenly be at the top before at least having a U.S. title reign first. Eddie went from a SummerSlam program with Angle to feuding with Luther Reigns in the fall after losing at the PPV. Rene Dupree and Kenzo Suzuki as tag champions was random, and so was Mordecai having a PPV match with Scotty 2 Hotty. The Kidman/London feud was interesting, though.

What was the best of these three perhaps overrated raw moments? Austin beer bath Foley Rock this your life DX Tank What's sadly forgotten in the beer bath is that Austin cuts a pretty good promo on Rock before it. Includes one of my favorite lines of his where he says he's gonna drive down Know Your Role Blvd., drive down Jabroni Dr., check into the Smackdown Hotel, drive down Route 3:16 and burn the SOB to the ground.

What?? I didn't even know they worked there then. DOA worked in WWE until at least Summer 98 because I remember their boring feud with LOD when Ellering turned heel to side with DOA. Don’t think they lasted much longer after that.

I completely forgot the Harris twins were in DOA. The Harris Twins popped up everywhere, but rarely stuck around very long, so I can't blame you for not remembering.
