I feel like Mojo Rawley's a much better promo than he should be. And I didn't think Charlotte would end up becoming as good of a promo as she is now after her rough start on the main roster. Mojo is a really good lowkey promo When he did the more serious tone promo after winning the Dre I was like oh shit this dude can cut a good one. He does a good reserved promo considering he's supposed to be the hyped personality guy

One I’m surprised hasn’t been mentioned yet is the promo Big Cass cut on Enzo when he turned on him. I never would have guessed that he had that promo in him Ooh that was probably the height of Cass's career, he got crowds to go back into Attitude Era mode with the (C)Asshole! chants so loudly that he couldn't even finish his promos half the time in the first few weeks after the heel turn. The babyface Team Sawft was just that over before the split, I think only Tommasso Ciampa's heel turn on Johnny Gargano ever came close to giving him such nuclear heetz. Also, Ciampa surprised me with his ability to cut promos in the NXT Full Sail arena with little more than facial expressions while the crowd showered him with boos. The man didn't even have an entrance theme when he went heel against Johnny Wrestling initially, and he became the most evil sonuva bitch like overnight not to mention playing mindgames with Candice LeRae. If you'd told me Ciampa and/or Gargano would be the 2 most beloved guys in NXT who have probably cut the most promos to date out of anyone else when they debuted as silent workhorses in the Dusty Tag Team Classic, I would've scoffed.

When The Miz first got drafted to Raw in 2009 he cut a really great promo on Cena that pretty much immediately made him the more interesting one coming out of the Miz and Morrison break up. I think Miz succeeded cause he didn't take success for granted like Morrison seemed to in their break up. He worked very hard post Dirt Sheet split.

Tyson Kidd.
He was one of the blandest guys on the roster.
Then he turned heel in nxt and became one of the most entertaining guys in the company.

I wish I had a time machine and could jump back and tell him years earlier, "Easy on your neck. Also Teddy is never going to make a WWE run work, so just shamelessly parody him. He's too busy training Whiskers to wrestle, so he won't notice.

I’m stunned that no one else has mentioned Goldberg. When he came back in 2016, I was groaning along with all of you that he was coming back for a match. While he always got by on his charisma, he was NEVER a good worker or talker, and those were two things that would seem to doom him in the modern wrestling landscape......and then he gave THAT promo and shut everyone up. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydhqoHw3__U

I liked the promo Chris Benoit did on Triple H the night after No Mercy 2000. He basically talked about how the WWF preferred showmanship over talent.

Aleistar Black is also a surprisingly decent promo
They aren't doing him much favors with the backroom stuff but when he had to start speaking more in NXT from when he came in as the silent killer, his words always had meaning and when he had to up the intensity he did

I have another one that I don't think has been mentioned yet: Bray Wyatt. More specifically, Husky Harris. I remember seeing him on NXT Season 2 and thinking he was just some fat guy who got there because of who his father is. Then, just about every time he got to cut a promo, I thought he was surprisingly good and had potential. Eventually, he would come to be known as one of the best promo men currently in the business, and I can honestly say that I saw it all the way in NXT. However, I never thought he would be a big star in WWE due to his look. Very happy to be wrong about that one.

It feels weird saying it, but with Black they need to do what they're doing with Roman. It took them YEARS, but Roman's character is finally what it should've been this whole time. A no nonsense ass kicker who doesn't say much, but when he speaks cuts right to the chase.

I don’t mind him doing the knocking on the door stuff but at the end of the day he should be doing the same thing he did in NXT. Smoking people in 5 seconds and making each match progressively harder

Been watching excerpts from Jim Cornette about Ray Traylor, and how a huge part of Big Bubba Rogers' character was he never spoke, which was for the better as he had the Southern accent and a high pitched voice for someone his size. Leading him to be asked if he was surprised that he was such a good promo as the Big Bossman, and he said he wasn't.

FACT (the "I'm afraid I have some Bad News!!!" by Barrett is sooooooooooo bittersweet-- Tyson Kidd no longer a competitor, Nattie Niedhart no longer getting a decent push due to her Hart Dungeon legacy, BNB doing B-movies and not anything in the UK wrestling scene, etc.... but still the #FACT remains the best gimmick ever devised)

Going back and watching some old RVD promos from ECW after years of stoner dude WWE promos was pretty surprising.

Going back and watching some old RVD promos from ECW after years of stoner dude WWE promos was pretty surprising. Cocky Douche RVD was one of my favorites. "You're right, Sabu! It's all about you tonight! Because it's your, uh, FTW Belt against Taz and the World Heavyweight Belt!! You're kicking his ass, not a problem! The real question is after you bring that belt to the family, is 'how Rob Van Dam is going to carry all 5 belts and his partner too?'" *Sabu instantly tries to throttle RVD*
