Ripley’s been based in the US the whole time, I think. Ahh, my mistake. Yeah, she was signed and relocated to the US before NXT UK became a thing, so she probably ended up there to get some regular TV time, because regular NXT can be a bit of a logjam in that regard. Not to mention that she’s regularly on the house show loops.

Everything is just better for NXT and people who want better wrestling experiences
The production, the lighting, the crowd interaction and fanfare. It's such a drastic, and better seperation from WWE as a whole, it's gonna be a very fun two hour show to have, and will probably benefit a lot of the talent to have it not be taped, be weekly, and flesh characters out all the more
No clue if they can keep this momentum weekly, but it was a great start, and highlighted exactly how much Vince doesn't get it anymore...

They did good. Can they keep it up? Historically, I have my doubts, but I'm hopeful.

Next week should rule too as they already announced ANOTHER Riddle/Dain street fight, and then winner gets a title shot against Cole.
EDIT: Should specify its for a future title shot.

Damn ijs Tyler Breeze and Fandango (the most over tag team on NXT) both going back to NXT AT THIS TIME specifically, could be the move of the century.
They could double-handedly bring tag team wrestling as an art form to the spotlight, and are a natural foil for Undisputed Era for epic encounters over the titles. People though these two guys were slipping under the radar on WWE main, but perhaps they were just biding their time for the move back to NXT for this unique spotlight
As for the actual show-- I love that the Women's Division opened things. The very first shot of NXT USA Network Era is Io Shirai with her evil dubsteb titantron. That's the way it's sposed ta be. The Women's NXT Division (Sasha Banks vs Bayley w/ Bayley Fan #1 was the ultimate heel versus face match I'll die by that argument) literally opened the floodgates for Women's wrestling throughout the WORLD, got Asuka and Kairi Sane to sign with WWE, made the Mae Young Classic tournament a reality, arguably got "The Man" Becky Lynch over (she wasn't over pre-Women's Evolution but is the top babyface post-Women's Evolution ijs thanx Stephanie McMahon!)

That's the thing, with HHH basically just coming out and hyping the absolute f out of NXT (and that was it) it gave people who wanted a WWE-main-alternative the nod. This was WWE-level wrestling, but indy-level excitement, in a well-built, cozy Full Sail University crowd that can outpop Chicago even if CM Punk is in the building. It's such a departure from what most people are used to with nowadays RAW or SmackDown that it's sure to get new fans to watch wrestling-- and to watch that damn 2nd hour you gotta sub to the WWE Network! Well Played... Vince?

Give the fans what they want, from in-ring to storytelling, and this is the kind of buzz and excitement you can get. And for being live they absolutely nailed it, and it's always great to have that raucous crowd that makes the shows that much more enjoyable. It'll be fun to have every week twice a night.
I'll still watch AEW first, but I'll be extremely excited to watch NXT afterwards.
I wonder if USA is like "why hasn't Raw felt like this in decades?"
Also, NOW is the time to pull the trigger on Velveteen's ascent to the title. I think Cole is a great champ, but Dream is the guy that can carry the brand on charisma alone.

According to Triple H, Vince was watching/texting him throughout, and was “thrilled” with how the show turned out.

Been watching NXT since day one and couldn't be happier it sounds like they knocked it out of the park.
UK viewers, it seems there's an hour-long version on the network now, any idea if/when we get the 2nd hour?
Wednesdays are going to be so exciting for the, dare I say, "silent majority" of wrestling fans who want to see both NXT and AEW put on excellent shows.

This week and next week, it's split in two (second hour airing live on the Network, then the first hour gets uploaded 24 hours after it airs on USA), then after that, a full two-hour show will air live on USA first, then be uploaded to the Network 24 hours later.

This is what I wish someone would clarify, especially with Sky losing the deal to BT Sport next year. Because as said before, NXT wasn't clarified with BT Sports' new WWE deal so that would have to be amended with this new Live show. I also don't think WWE want a scenario in the UK where, if it happens, AEW's freely accessible on ITV4 and people have to wait 24 hours to see NXT on the Network. And Sky probably doesn't give as much of a f***, to put it bluntly.

Thanks. I think I was mostly swerved by the timezones. I saw "the full episode will be uploaded on Thursday" and didn't figure that it's only just turning Thursday in some places NXT wasn't clarified with BT Sports' new WWE deal so that would have to be amended with this new Live show. I also don't think WWE want a scenario in the UK where, if it happens, AEW's freely accessible on ITV4 and people have to wait 24 hours to see NXT on the Network. I wonder, do WWE have the wherewithal to find a home for NXT in a competing slot to AEW on ITV4? I don't know how much focus they really put on the UK TV market; their previous schedule with Sky always seemed so slapdash with little rhyme, reason or explanation to what was being broadcast and when. Either way, if AEW is given a 9pm/10pm timeslot, I could certainly cope with NXT on the network a day later. As long as - as I fear it could be - it's not removed from the network once it finds a home on UK TV.

I'm still gonna watch AEW live though, I wanna support the Non-WWE congolomorate live more, but this was a stellar show with some good surprises. Unless you’re a Nielsen household, watching AEW live doesn’t give them any support. Watch the better show which will be NXT most weeks.

As long as - as I fear it could be - it's not removed from the network once it finds a home on UK TV. I think what stands in the way is the fact that WWE's done pretty badly on Sky in the last few years or so, Live shows barely going over 140,000 from last I checked, so I can't imagine how NXT was doing on there before the Network was a thing, never mind now. So the question really comes if they couldn't get NXT UK onto a channel over here, what chance would NXT? BT Sport could give them a slot but I just don't know if it would benefit them outside of filling time, which was something WWE quickly became under Sky.

Putting all that snark aside for a second, wouldn't watching NXT live have the same effect if you're not a Nielsen household? So in a sense it doesn't actually matter that much?

I do not understand this hashtag. I am always amused by NXT trying to hype itself as this underground thing and rebellious but...it isn't. It absolutely isn't. It's always rubbed me the wrong way.

I really loved it a lot, but one thing bothered me. How the hell does a Street Fight not have a conclusive ending? It shouldn't matter if a bunch of other people get involved, there are no disqualifications.

BEcause they want to bring the people that don't like main roster WWE. They are the cool new generation or whatever.

No, I absolutely understand why but it'd be like if Fox Searchlight called itself a rebellious film studio and different from those children's films when the company that owns them literally makes those kids films. It's disingenuous and tryhard.
