It's quite clever really. They've created competition within the company that appeals to the fans who don't like the typical WWE style but it's still essentially WWE doing indys. It is extremely clever because of how into this narrative a lot of the NXT fanbase is. It's very, very strange. It’s not like NXT isn’t selling a bill of goods. They present what they are and people like it

But it got to the point that at some shitty episodes of Raw they would chant NXT when they were bored as if that was rebellious??

I wouldn't say rebellious as much more so , that's the just way it is Every PPV discussion is always how WWE needs to match up to NXT Takeovers

I didnt watch, but as I was scrolling through the clips on YouTube, I just don't know who these people are and why I should click on them. Besides lio and Dream, there's nothing that catches my eye right away.

Besides lio and Dream, there's nothing that catches my eye right away. That’s why you need to watch. You’re doing yourself a disservice by not knowing any of the 4 women in the ring with their own personalities and gimmicks, Imperium, KUSHIDA, etc

Finally got to watch the USA Hour of it. It was good shit and I mean that in a genuine way and not a making fun of Vince McMahon way.
I think the thing that's most noticeable besides the match quality is how strong the commentary is. It's amazing hearing what these folks can do without Vince McMahon yelling in their ear. Like calling the matches. Mauro Ranallo is a gazillion times better as NXT guy than he ever was on Smackdown. Beth Phoenix and Nigel McGuinness are strong, too, and it's so refreshing to hear a heel commentator in WWE that isn't over-the-top grating and obnoxious. Even without knowing really anything about a lot of these folks except for the Undisputed Era, Candice LeRae, Mia Yim, and Io Shirai, I felt invested in the matches. The commentary did a great job setting up the stakes and calling the matches. There was a lot of great in-ring psychology, too, that sold the matches' importance.
AEW will still be my choice for live watching, but NXT will be regular viewing for me. I just hope that we don't see the mainstream WWE tropes start to seep their way into NXT's feel down the line.

On one hand Ranallo has SO MUCH passion, enthusiasm and authenticity in his calling, more than anyone there’s been since Jim Ross in his prime. But at the same time, he loves dropping these elaborate and wordy pop culture references, which can be a bit annoying at times. If you really hate those, then you won’t like Ranallo at all, but really that’s like his only major flaw.

There's no one that interests me to watch at the moment. I used to check in when Ricochet was there or when asuka or joe was there, but I don't care about the Undisputed Era and no one really resonates with me from the clips I've seen. I'm not gonna apologize for not being interested in the current roster.

Broke my word not to watch 'til Shayna was dethroned. Women's match was damn good. Miffed that Hulu only has the USA half.

I love his enthusiasm and he really does add to the product and gets it over. But I f***ing hate hate hate the awful pop culture references, to the point where he takes me out of where I am because I'm too busy cringing.

The pop culture stuff really bothered me when he was on Smackdown, but it didn't stick out for me on NXT. Maybe I'll notice it more on repeated viewings especially when the in-ring action isn't quite as good. But I was immersed in everything else.

I mean Lio Rush and Velveteen Dream had 2 of the best matches of the premiere episode (Rush was on hour 2) so your favorites are all there still whenever you want to check in again. For my money, Io Shirai is my new favorite female wrestler her new gimmick is probably the best gimmick any Japanese wrestler that came up through NXT has enjoyed to date and she opened the show up with 3 other females in a Fatal Four Way that was a very high bar to open up USA Era NXT with.
