There's a new series that stated in Today's Jump called Candy Flurry.
I have no idea if I'm supposed to take this seriously or not. The best way I can describe it is Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure, but the Stands are based on sweets.
Like, the main character, Tsumugi, she's a high school girl that can summon giant lollipops, but that's bad because 5 years ago a Lollipop user destroyed Tokyo.
The enemy Sweets User (That is literally what they call people with these abilities) can summon an manipulate Doughnuts, becoming a Doughnut Kaiju at the end of the chapter.
There's a boy named Midori that joins Tsumugi's class, and he's a member of a special police force that fights Sweets Users that fights with a giant fork
Like, I'm pretty sure it's a gag manga a la Mashle, but the way the world is set up is just so earnest, and there's a nice little mystery because there were only 100 pieces of candy that granted the powers, and each one is supposed to be unique, so the question is not only who destroyed Tokyo, but how are there two Lollipop users.
I -- I think I liked it. I think I liked it a lot. I've read it twice, already, and I finished the chapter excited to see what comes next.
And a little hungry, I'm not going to lie.

This feels like as good a thread as any to bring it up.
Am I the only one who lately has been... extremely confused as to since when people are so huge on Demon Slayer? It was one of those things I was only barely aware of and basically saw nobody talk about, I have basically no idea what it actually is, and then the movie's just suddenly been a gigantic hit becoming the most successful anime movie ever and now it did its entire projected weekend box office in the States in a day. Was this just some gigantic series that I somehow just never saw anybody talking about or did it just explode in popularity one day?

I can't answer why, its a mystery to me as well. Some of it is fun, but so many of the characters are so annoying in Demon Slayer. On top of it the art in the manga burns my soul. I'm currently working my way through the manga simply cause I have read everything else at the local library... And so I must!

Depends on what you looking for Promised Neverland just finished this year at 180 chapters While you said under 200 chapters, i'd give Gantz a read it is like 383 chapters Monster is like 150 chapters and a great suspense manga Battle Royale is 120 chapters and a classic BTOOM just really finished, I think it is like 120 chapters

Having looked that up myself a month or two ago, it basically was a reasonably popular but not exceptionally so series that EXPLODED in popularity during its anime run, helped by the popular fight scenes and COVID keeping everyone home. At the beginning of this year, the new volume of the manga was selling at One Piece levels, which is pretty staggering.

One of my friends discusses the often prevalent problem of power creep in Manga/Anime using Dragon Ball Super as an example -

I think Demonslayer was popular with a lot of non anime and manga fans as the author concluded the story after 23 volumes or so. The anime will conclude after another couple of seasons and maybe another film. It won’t go into hundreds and hundreds of episodes like Naruto or One Piece which non fans are wary of. The Taisho setting is also original for many viewers, interwar pop culture focuses on the Great Depression in the US and the rise of the nazis in Germany when there was so much going on all over the world (a factor in the popularity of Peaky Blinders I think).
The plot is basically Buffy, only the slayer is a bloke and the ‘good’ demon is his sister rather than love interest so you know it’s the type of story people like. Add in likeable supporting characters and well above average animation and I’m not surprised it’s a smash and suspect outside of Japan it’s reputation will grow.

I'm debating about getting into Mushoku Tensei purely to hate on this dude's dad. I saw a clip of someone reacting to it and bruh, from one scene I hate dude lmao.
Also, That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime is a pretty fun anime. I'm not far but yeah I'm glad I got it in the rotation.

I've seen all the episodes thus far, and I thought it was pretty fun to watch.

Just a random thought that came to me. You know what would have been cool and kinda fitting? Bleach, if they had like some sort of Hollow or Arrancar or Visored that had a plague doctor motif. Like, it feels like a good fit for the masks any of those three had.

With Volume 99 coming out next week, it's all but pretty much a lock One Piece is going to hit 100 volumes by the end of this year. It's crazy to think how much stuff has happened since it started in 1997 and it's still got at least 5 more years to go (probably 8, in honesty).

So, to summarize, we have: **Fallout from Kaido's inevitable defeat at Wano **The hunt for the missing 4th Road Poneglyph **The inevitable clash of Shanks versus Blackbeard **The mystery of what happened with Sabo and Vivi at the Reverie **What the Super Science Group, the Seven Warlord of the Seas replacement, actually is **The conflict between the Revolutionaries and CP-0. **Going to Elbaf, land of the Giants, and Big Mom's history there. So.................yeah, we've got a ways to go yet. XD
