I can't imagine what they'll try next to pop the ratings. I wish they would stop promoting the Saudi shows on RAW and SD.

Huh. AEW beat NXT *and* Smackdown this week.
I hope WWE is good at managing their money, because one this current TV deal expires, their financials aren't gonna look so hot.

Bet Vince is wishing he kept Bischoff for a few more weeks.

So when does Fox have the option to cancel it? Needless to say they aren't living to their side of the deal WWE is getting a rights fee for SD like sports leagues get for games, and it's for 5 years. Fox can't just stop ordering more episodes like a regular show. This. None of the contingency plans for SmackDown involve Fox canceling it. Worst case for WWE, but not necessarily Fox, is Fox moves it to the dreaded FS2, which does exist.

Worth noting that Dynamite beat SmackDown in the ratings in Canada this week, which is a much more even platform as they both air on cable networks there (Dynamite on TSN, SmackDown on Sportsnet 360).

Ratings for smackdown this week will be back to normal of course.
But this is still a hugely worrying and embarrassing number for WWE, 2/3 of their audience didn't care enough to find out where FS1 was and just gave up instead of watching.
Fox must be feeling very nervous.

How much does “Friday Night Death Slot” play into it as well. Like even on FOX, I doubt think they will ever top RAW

I mean, they’re on Network TV, it’d be weird if it wasn’t consistently topping Raw by default.

FS1 is a piss channel that Fox has tried to make relevant for years
