Wow that was actually really good (haunted house one). Proper standout episode good. Glad I didn't give up on it now.
Also liked that girl in the Brazil shirt from the plastic episode, liked her in Traces too. Has some strong screen presence to stand out in both despite not really doing much. She got a future companion tease too, think she could do well, a travel bloggers take on the universe could be interesting.
Although it does bring me to what's been bugging me for ages, the lack of f***s given by anybody when a minor charachter dies. Sure we don't care but surely those on screen should?

Yeah it was a bit of a big one last week. "No, Shelley must live, even if we have to break the 1 rule I was given about the lone Cyberman and create an apocalyptic alternate timeline and hope I can fix it!" "What about those servants that died?" "f*** 'em"

Well I'm not quite sure what to think about that. My biggest takeaway is it seemed like nothing really happened.

{Spoiler}The Lone Cyberman on his own? Meh.
The Cybermen in an all out war, basically bringing the Saward era war footing of stories like Earthshock into a very different generation of Who? Genuinely interesting. This felt like Doctor Who's Rogue One, recontextualising that era of the timeline and showing just how terrifying it would be to exist in.
Then there's all kinds of interesting side factors, like whatever's happening with this Irish setting, the destroyed Gallifrey, whatever the Timeless Child is, what the Master is up to, if Captain Jack will be back, and whether all the fam will make it out alive. Can't wait for next week.

Very much the middle part of a story, more interested in Brendan's story at this point. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Given he came back to life EXACTLY how Jack always did, it'll be fun to see how that ties in.

{Spoiler}Brendan's probably The Doctor pre-Hartnell. They made him a ginger too as a mythology gag, it'd make sense for The Doctor to have always desired a return to ginger because that was how he was when he was born.
Don't know how the hell the events of Listen on the barn fit if he is the Doctor though

To be honest, I doubt the BBC care about ratings, they're a publically-funded broadcaster after all. On the other hand, Doctor Who earns them something like £600 million in foreign broadcast rights and that's not including merchandising.

I'm somewhat surprised they're suggest a direct line from Missy to the Spy-Master at all. You could have one or more regenerations that occured between the two after all.

Huh, I kinda figured that regeneration would be tied into the whole Gallifrey/Ruth-Doctor mystery.

Good. It opens it up for speculation and future audio/book stories. Personally I was disappointed that they had two confirmed regenerations of the Master in a row that didn't have Geoffrey Beevers randomly appearing in the middle like he has between Delgado, Ainley, Roberts and MacQueen.

I really did not like this weeks (Last weeks?) episode... really didn't seem like a lot happened and it felt really stretched... considering how some of the ones this season seemed to be rushed due to only being a one parter... it seems like an odd choice to have this be the one they split in two. Maybe the second half will save it. Anywho... (see what I did there?!) If anyone wants some more of the Doctor... comics and audiobook Humble Bundle on right now. www.humblebundle.com/doctor-who-audiobooks-comics

I feel like they didn't think this revelation through. {Spoiler}On the one hand it does explain those extra Doctors from The Brain of Morbius and why the Doctor's age is inconsistent because they can never remember it clearly.
On the other hand what happened to the Doctor running out of regenerations in Time of the Doctor and needing to be gifted a whole new set? And why was River Song able to regenerate? That was dismissed as a side effect of her being conceived in the time vortex but we know now that's not true. This is just more of a mess you more you think about it.
