Lady Terminator is the best one. All the same scenes from the original Terminator, but now with black magic curses!

The original is a classic. The second one I have disliked/hated since I saw it opening weekend.
ALso the first one is one of the few film James Cameron has made that is worth a crap.

Both are amazing films.
The 2nd one was the first film to make me cry.

The one with naked Mackenzie Davis. If we're taking nudity into account, the first one has Arnold's dong casually swinging in the breeze and Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn making Eddie Furlong...

This is a rough question for me. They are both classics. And even though one is a sequel to the other, they are very different films. The first one is practically a low budget slasher movie where the killer is a robot, and the second one is a huge summer blockbuster type movie.
I voted for the second one though, mostly because when the Terminator gets referenced or parodied in pop culture, it is the good guy version Arnold played in the second one.

They are both great, but I cannot help but to feel like they are two different genres. The first is a horror film with a sci-fi setting. The second is an action flick with the same setting. It is actually hard to compare them because of that. You are absolutely correct and this is mirrored in Alien and Aliens as well.

It’s a tough call but I’ll go for the second one due to its potential closure. The first is bleak and rightfully so, but the second has more emotion and humanity behind it. The thumbs up is STILL heartbreaking.i

As awesome as T2 is, there’s something about the first film’s horror-infused tech noir atmosphere, with its darkness and constant undertone of apocalyptic fear, which sticks with me more and keeps me coming back to it more. I’ve gotta go with the original.
