...So why put him in the match then? I mean, the easy answer is to give exposure to NXT UK, since it's still a show they want to advertise to a mainstream audience. They did the same with Toni Storm in the women's Survivor Series match (which I legitimately cannot think of a single thing she did that entire match). Nevertheless, we can safely say they did more harm than good by having both of them out there.

Well, there's also the fact that WALTER doesn't want to move to the US as he likes to spend time with his family in Germany, so it's not like he'll ever be a NXT/Main Roster mainstay, so in the long term taking that into account, yeah, he's mostly expendable. ...So why put him in the match then? The answer is probably that he's the biggest name in NXT UK outside of Toni Storm which, in itself, is a big f***ing problem. Also, most of the audience watching don't know about that part, they just know what commentary says which then doesn't make that really an excuse. You could have even easily put Dijakovic in there, he can take the loss and then you could build a story where he has to build up his confidence again from Drew's lucky shot. You can't do anything with it in NXT UK right now because there's still episodes in the can to go through leading to UK Takeover. Dijakovic would’ve made the most sense to be there, given his alliance with Keith Lee, but I guess they didn’t want the NXT team to just be Ciampa’s WarGames team.

The problem isn't that he was the first out nor is it that he was taken out by 1 move. Drew McIntyre being the one who eliminated him is the issue.
This is a guy who they always say is a future world champion and yet he's got no planned path thus far. He was beaten by Ricochet not that long ago, he's been fumbling around this spot for a while now hell he was Corbin's lackey for a bit. This is a guy who hasn't been built up to the level he could be. Had this been Drew when he was feuding with Roman? The guy who was destroying Dean Ambrose weekly? The guy ambushing all 3 Shield guys? The guy who had his own single's match at WM? The guy who was attacking main roster world champions? It could work.
But it's...not. It's just this "hey he's a future world champion but he's on the lost road" guy.

That is a major issue.
And friggin drew brought up that he took out both walter and braun at survivot series on monday.
The guy needs to be champ already so they can stop calling him a future world champion. Dude has been called that since 2009. Shit or get off the pot.
But they gave drew those 2 big eliminations followed up with him not winning the fatal fourway. Then he becomes a non entity again.
Wtf
