So, OK. If the Butcher is already well-known for his musical exploits, why not SAY THAT'S WHO HE IS?
Why not "That's Andy 'The Butcher' Williams! But why is he here with The Blade?"

So does this mean Cody is in a double feud now with MJF and these 2 new guys? If so that’s interesting. Way to get Dustin involved as well. Also gives MJF the advantage against Cody if he has business elsewhere as well.

Also gives MJF the advantage against Cody if he has business elsewhere as well. That's my biggest concern about having them go after Cody right now because of Allie. Cody getting into a feud in two fronts might stretch him too thin storyline-wise, and I feel like it's to the B&B&B's potential detriment. Of course, one of the things that AEW has been doing well is to establish that there's a potential for multiple feuds for people to be in, particularly in the Elite, as they seem to have the biggest targets on their back. And it creates an interesting situation between Cody and Brandi, because he's been very hands-off about Brandi essentially losing her mind, and now there's an elephant in the room because her actions have suddenly landed on top of Cody. He may be angry with the B&B&B, but he also can't be happy with Brandi over this, either.

They may use the Kong scalping as a motivator for her sudden change in personality, but my guess is that they have a different reason for targeting him specifically, since I think they really want to keep Cody and Brandi apart right now.

Didn't even realise. I am immediately sold.

I was going to say that the Butcher is Theodore Roosevelt but it was done already.
Dude looks like a president in the 19th century, or a man from ancient American history.

The Butcher looks like a star already--I can't wait to see what he can do in the ring. I love the look, and I interpret it as a version of Big Bully Busick that's actually a killer.

Yes, one line is all it would have taken. "The Blade and the Butcher! These two have left a trail of bodies all over the [ Midwest/Northeast/wherever] independent scene! What are they doing here in AEW?!" Excalibur is really the one who blew the intro.

Yeah that was largely pointed out in the criticism - all well and good knowing who the guys are, but explain WHY you know them and WHERE you know them from.

Who in the hell is going to be the drummer for Andy's band while he's wrestling on TV? Also, why does Allie look so different? All she did was dye her hair a different colour and wear a different attire than usual and she looked nearly unrecognisable. I'm not really the biggest fan of Pepper Parks, but I love Andy Williams' look and, judging from his Twitter account, he seems like a down to earth dude.

As someone mentioned, they look like they'd be Marty's newest Villain Enterprises members once he makes his debut

I'm not reading this whole thread...I will only add this (and I'm sure they've been covered)
*The inevitable Marty Scurll signing seems tailor made for him to EVENTUALLY align with Blade, Butcher and Bunny when he turns on the Elite because 'all of (his) friends are dead.'
*Andy motherf***in Williams in a professional wrestling ring on television is the goddamn coolest thing. So...here's my favorite Every Time I Die song to celebrate;
I saw ETID live one time at a Festival in Louisville. They slayed. Andy was HUGE even then. And...he had hair.

MJF paid them to attack Cody. He was also the one to pick QT Marshall as Cody's partner for next week.

Watch his match at JBs Bloodsport with Chris Dickinson and The Butcher and The Blade vs The Ugly Ducklings at ISW: Boner Jams. Thats his best work IMO

MJF paid them to attack Cody. Come on AEW, it was two minutes and could've easily just slipped in while Cody was in the damned ring. WHY leave important character development information like this off-air when it could've done nothing but help these guys get off the ground? You could've just had it interrupt Cody as he was IN-RING, and have them attack him a second time, but NO... Ugh...this is so irritating...don't do this AEW, don't do this!

So the side I fall in here is that I actually really appreciate this stuff going on social media. Like, it was a really nice thing to find out there and stuff like this can get eyes on those checking social media for stuff that happens outside of the show, making it a wider universe compared to WWE where YouTube promos pretty much mean jack shit. Now...the problem comes when they don't promote it as such. If you're going to do this stuff (and honestly, by all accounts they should), mention it when you make the match announcement or have Excaliber say "See MJF's full statement on our Twitter" but summarize it for the audience watching. Put a brief clip up of him revealing he paid them off. But also leave enough for people to chase up the rest and get more followers, basically. It's like stuff concerning Dark. Mention that more, you can probably slip it in here and there and by all accounts, whilst not being as important as Dynamite, it adds more context to the wider picture. Hopefully they can hone it down because the concept of it is SUPER neat.
