I will pretend that I am surprised Sandman has beliefs like this, especially after hearing him tell stories of womanizing in shoots. After watching a video of him literally pass out in a match, it's amazing anyone books him to any real capacity in this day and age. What he said was so clearly wrong and his reputation is so low that I am not even offended, I am just wondering why Impact would book him in a battle royal at a point where they don't need to? Callis loves to book his buddies just look at the guys that regularly work for impact Sandman, Dreamer,RVD,Sabu,Rhino,Gama Singh, Swinger and Disco. That’s alot when you look at how small impact’s roster is.

Usually the threads get really long where there’s a couple guys with a contrarian opinion and they or the other posters won’t stop replying.
I’m like “okay. Sandman is STILL wrestling?!”

Absolutely zero people should be surprised about this coming from the Sandman.

Not surprising behavior out of the guy. But a bunch of douchebags will undoubtedly create a barrier around the creep because they like his entrance or because "It's just his opinion, aren't people allowed to have opinions?"

Unrelated, but: Ouch, unfortunate/unintended choice for whom to put in the thumbnail photo (it's Sandman front and center, just in case they change it.)

The unfortunate thing about the "old timers" or "legends" is that most of them probably hold the same beliefs about changes in wrestling, like women becoming more competitive. The whole "this business" way of thinking is one of the things I dislike so much about being a wrestling fan. A guy like Terry Funk seems to have had success and happiness in his career is probably a guy who doesn't think in a negative or bitter way but it's the Cornette's, Billy Graham's, Bret Hart's and guys who have either never had big success or had it and lost it that have the old school way of thinking.

I love Sandman and always will but this is a guy who wrestled New Jack on acid in Florida, him being a nut isn't a shock

I love Sandman and always will but this is a guy who wrestled New Jack on acid in Florida, him being a nut isn't a shock I remember him going on an elongated 9/11 Truther rant in the middle of a YouShoot, essentially veering it off the rails with the parking break on the whole time. Him not really being on social media seemed like a smart move in terms of his nostalgia pops, but then with this coming out last night it really makes him look like an asshole. Like, we're all entitled to our opinions - however wrong and outdated they may be, BUT to essentially shit on a co-worker right before they perform is such a horrifyingly beyond-the-pale dick move.

Here comes another sixty pages. Oh wait. Sandman doesn’t have that many organized haters. No, it's because peopel are actually so on the same page about a off-hand comment that will likely be the end of the story rather than an escalating situation of reveals, firings, edits made to a television show, and podcast episodes, with nobody to jump in trying to defend Sandman and talk about how people only think he's sexist because they're "organized haters". A lack of strife and people trying to defend it is why this isn't blowing up and are you seriously going to be on this f***ing goblin shit in every thread about anything bigoted or controversial from now on? Because that's piss. Like just as easily: wow, here comes a thread about someone saying some outdated shit that won't result in multiple bannings from the forum for saying everyone on the board is in diapers or accusing the site owner of "siding with the fascists" because when Sandman says something dumb peoples' morality works on a very direct and functional manner to just say "Wow yeah that sure is some dumb sexist shit" and move on with their day.

I never thought anyone who smashed kendo sticks and beer cans against his head and was in a perpetual state of drunkenhood would have any sort of progressive views on society.

There was also Cornette execution squads... though thinking about it I think that was another thread. Still one of the dumbest things I've read here recently. Stupid and idiotic, even.

And TBH, I can't really blame him for that after everything he's been through with the aftermath of the Montreal Screwjob, his brother's death, and his stroke at such a young age.

Yeah, the guy who claimed we'd kill Jim Cornette given the chance was in a different Cornette thread. Cornette threads have become a real shitshow over the past six months, but I feel like the "racism bad" set might not be the volatile element there.
