Cuz they were awesome.
Just two huge dudes wrecking shit. If anyone looked like hoss wrestlers, it was these two. Earthquake and Typhoon are cool names&their tandem singlets were always cool. They could get hear by tossing smaller teams around or just go ham against the Steiners or LoD. Just a perfect team for what they were, especially for that era.
Plus, John Tenta was my friend and I miss him.

I loved Fred and John tagging together! I liked them best as heels. They had a great finisher.

Two of the best fat guy wrestlers of all time, definitely.
(And don't shortchange Uncle Fred's merits as a hoss, he was at his absolute best when he wasn't pretending to be a boat or a shockmaster.)

They were one of the first teams that confused young imsofudgingreat. I liked them but they were bad guys so I felt like I shouldn’t.

Professionally, they were definitely a really great tag team. It's a shame they all of a sudden stopped teaming in early 1993 and then wound up being in different companies without ever getting a reunion. Personally, they deserve ever bit of fame and fortune they have. I know John Tenta gave a lot of good memories to fans of this board and although I don't know Fred Ottman personally, he is a friend of a friend and in the times I've met him or just been around him briefly I know how good a man he is.

Should be a Hall Of Fame inductee by now, John Tenta especially. 'Quake was my favourite heel as a kid. I know he means a lot to people on this forum and I for one would love to see him recognised for his contribution to this business.

I just didn’t like the way they dropped the tag titles should’ve been booked differently

They are the epitome of wrestling. Just two angry, barking fat men with colorful outfits and bad hair.

They are one of my all time favorite tag teams. Just two big dudes, that could move. Quake was the better of the pair certainly... but Tugboat/Typhoon/Shockmaster wasn't that far behind him. Tenta also seemed like a great guy from the interaction on the board

Natural Disasters was the tag team which made a dent on the Legion of Doom's invincibility. LOD were always getting praise for being the only team to win the tag team titles in the NWA, AWA, and WWF. LOD ran over the competition but lost to the Natural Disasters at the Royal Rumble '92 by count-out.

Tenta was showing his age a bit more compared to his singles run, and Typhoon, while a great repackaging, was still kind of a dork, but I liked them as a team, definitely.

Tenta was a lot younger then he looked. Believe it or not he was still only in his late 20's during the Natural Disasters entire run. As for the team I liked them. I thought their face run was a lot better then it had any right being as their feud with Money Inc. over the tag titles through pretty much of all 1992 was pretty enjoyable. Both Tenta and Ottman were by all accounts it seems super nice guys and class acts outside the ring which has made me like them even more looking back as I always root for the "good guys" in the business. Earthquake should definitely be in the Hall of Fame. Off the top of my head other then Martel, Demolition and Bundy it seems like he's really the only deserving guy from the Golden Era that hasn't got in yet. I wonder if Vince still holds it against him for bailing during his feud with Yokozuna during his short singles run in 94 when he got pissed for having to job to Yoko forcing them to bring Typhoon back to take his place.

they are the reason I started watching WWF, I loved Giant Heystacks as a kid, and for a time thought Earthquake and him were the same person. my favourite tag team ever in WWF.

I doubt it considering he was back in wwf before the end of the 90's True but they did make him a big joke as Golga. Could've been payback. On the other hand though in interviews before his passing while he spoke negatively about Bischoff and WCW I don't remember him ever saying anything bad about Vince. However I guess maybe he thought there was a chance for another run. WCW was out of business so there was nothing to lose in talking bad about them.

I love their dropkicks. Holy crap, the got some height on those, especially Fred. There is just something awesome about fat guys doing dropkicks. There's a match on a Coliseum Video, Supertape 3 I believe, between Earthquake and Tugboat where they both do dropkicks on each other and Lord Alfred Hayes on commentary is marking out over it the whole time. Pretty funny. They also kind of told a good story around the dropkicks as for once Earthquake was against a guy as big as him and wasn't getting anywhere just using brute force like he usually would and had to resort a surprise agility move to catch Tugboat off guard.
