While not everybody in the square circle have the "gift of the gab" and do their talking in the ring, some have a really good day on an occasional. So who can you think of who don't normally have good mic skills had a good promo?
Chris Benoit on 10/22/2000 Raw: The Rapid Wolverine certainly wasn't known for his thespian mic skills as his strong point was his technical prowress, yet on the RAW after No Mercy, he did a promo before his match with Road Dogg about how wrestling talent is overlooked for sportsmanship. This was coming off the heels of his feud with Triple H.
Mark Henry on a June 2013 RAW: Donning a pink salmon colored suit, he was doing a speech hinting at retirement. Very emotional and had the crowd eating at the palm of his hands. John Cena was in the ring during that segment. When the two were about to hug, the Worlds Strongest Man powerslamed him saying "Thats what I do" and challenged him to a World Title match at the next PPV.
Any you can think of?

This is sort of built on a false premise that Mark Henry was some how "usually not good" at promos.

I never thought Steamboat was a great talker (great in-ring worker of course), but his promo leading up to Savage where talks about new horizons or something like that was really good. I think it might have been directly before the actual match. I’ll have to rewatch WM III for the millionth time to remember

Kerry Von Erich's promo before his Summerslam '90 match against Perfect was pretty solid for him ... although I get a strong sense it required like 20 takes to get that one.

I don't know if this really counts, but Goldberg's speech on the post-WM 33 Raw when it went off the air was really good.

I'm not sure Henry counts there because by the Hall of Pain run he was a very good promo. The one the night after he won the belt is a favourite of mine.

If I were a famous boxer I would choose Mark Henry as # 1 guy in my entourage.

Warlord could cut a decent promo when Slick didn’t drown him out

Bret wasn't always the best (think he described himself as 6/10) - His chest protector promo was great and the time he called goldberg an idiot after luring goldberg into a trap to be beaten by steiner

As robotic as he usually sounded Big Cass absolutely killed that one promo about turning on Enzo.

'97 onward heel Bret was a revelation on the mic. He personified the concept of "the heel who believes he's in the right" so well and it added an incredible edge to his promos that's very hard to replicate, even for people who might be more naturally at ease when talking than Bret was.

On another Bret note, I always loved one promo shortly after he first won the WWF title. When Heenan tells him Flair wants another shot, Bret says "I'm supposed to be scared? Ric already gave up to the sharpshooter!" (Then Ric and Razor Ramon tried to bully hi and Hennig helped) It's nothing on the level of 2000 Rock, but his delivery is so confident and champion-like. At no point does he come off like he isn't ready for a big stage.

SUPERBRAWL SATURDAY is still one of the best from Lex too. I know people say it a bad promo but its 100% Lex trying his best without a damn clue. I can buy his frustration as 100% real, he is one of biggest stars/legends the world has ever seen and he should been shown more respect.

Sting's "stick it" promo was fantastic compared to all his other crap.

A mention to Matt Hardy, useless with a live mic ("car crash" debacle) but given pre taped stuff he came into his own first at ROH and then the evolution of the Broken character. Makes you wonder how many other wrestlers who are useless at in ring promos would thrive with pre taped stuff and even the promo legends of the 80s such as Roberts and Savage probably benefited from having lots of takes to get it right and may have floundered doing it live (in ring promos really became a thing in the New Generation era IIRC).

When you had Kane, Hogan and the Rock together and Kane was the best on the mic.

Sting's "stick it" promo was fantastic compared to all his other crap. Was that the one the night after BATB 96 talking about Hogan's heel turn? I liked it a lot because he brought up that brief period when Hogan turned to the "dark side" in late 95.
