I liked it.
There was some stupidity, and bits I didn't like.
But there were also some bits I loved.
1 - The fleet arriving at the end was badass 2 - C3P0 was great in this 3 - The past jedi cheering Rey on was awesome 4 - Lando 5 - Chewies reaction to Leia's death 6 - Rey came into her own here. She was great 7 - Leia had a lightsabre. Awesome 8 - Ben tossing away his lightsabre
What I didn't like. Maz didn't die. The bloodlines thing was a bit meh. Rey & Ben's kiss. A few things didnt make much sense --like ok, the Emperor has a secret fleet... but where the f*** did he get the millions of crew? Also, if he had that huge fkeet... why bother with the first order. There should have been some hint of how Palpatine survived. Not outright explained, but a few hints. Rey being his granddaughter...... eh, i didnt like
Biggest one, the star destroyers stupid weak spot. I hated that. Utterly stupid.

1. So...if she had a vision of her son turning to the dark side, why’d she send him to Jedi train with Uncle Luke? And if she had this vision, why didn’t she tell Luke, so that Luke knew what to expect and wasn’t so shocked to sense so much darkness in him that he’d raise his blade on him in his sleep? And what does her son turning have to do with her own power? her vision wasn't that her son would turn to the dark side, it was the end of her path as a Jedi would be her son's death. thus she chose to not become a Jedi But it seems that that didn’t work, since she apparently didn’t become a full Jedi (though still enough of one to train someone apparently), and her son ended up dying anyway. I’ve gotta ask: was it at all clear how long Hux had been a mole? Was it all along, or was it something that happened after TLJ? If the former...so that would basically mean he was a mole even when he was making that Nazi speech on Starkiller Base and overseeing the destruction of Hosnian Prime? Why didn’t he break his cover and betray the First Order THEN? If the latter...so, nuking the capital of the New Republic and committing mass genocide, he was fine with, but taking orders from a temperamental man-child, THAT’S what caused him to reevaluate his life? pretty sure it happened after Last Jedi his motivation for helping was purely personal. as he stated in the movie, he didn't care about the Resistance winning or not, he just wanted Kylo Ren defeated (and with Kylo out of the way, there's no one to stop him from taking control of the First Order) But...if the Resistance beats the First Order, then that would mean that there would be no First Order for him to take control of in the end. Kind of a flaw in his plan, there! This is kinda reminding me of Dax Shepard’s character in Idiocracy, where he tells Luke Wilson that the only reason he helped him and told him there was a real time machine was because he likes money, to which Luke Wilson points out that if there was no time machine, there never would’ve been a way from him to go back in time and open up an account and give him that money in the first place.

In fact... wait. Rey and Ben bought each other back from thr dead. But thats like a massive secret only Darth Plagueus knew. Yet they can do it no problem?
The more I think, the more plot bullshittery appears.

And before bed, I'll just add. C3P0 kills it in this. He has so many funny lines and moments. "You didnt't say my name sir, but I'm fine too."

For what it’s worth. I really liked the movie. I get people’s complaints, but I enjoyed it start to finish. I loved the call backs. I loved the fights. Coulda done without the kiss, but with Ben still dying after redeeming himself made it work for me.

Enjoyed it. Wasn't perfect but at least I didn't leave the theater outraged like I did with Last Jedi. Thought it was the best of the new trilogy and only above PM overall, so middle of the road. Rey as a Palpatine made sense in terms of power, Ben's redemption was well handled and he had some very Han like mannerisms. Han showing up surprised me and had me cheering. Wedge returning had me loudly cheering as well.
I had issues with it but I can at least say I had a fun time watching it and that's all I wanted.

Just rewatched it...and it really doesn't hold up on a second viewing, not that it had much luck on the first viewing either, but it just keeps deteriorating. Every plot thread feels like the middle chapter of several expanded universe novels.

I don’t want to poke the bear with the “Mary Sue” talk but how can anyone not admit that she was Mary-Sue’d pretty bad in this one?

So Palpatine’s son didn’t have any force powers? He went down awfully weak.
Three generations of Skywalkers have this legacy inherent ability to use the force, but Palpatine’s bloodline is treated like male pattern baldness and is every other generation?
Blah. This movie has so many plot holes that it is fitting in that it makes it just like the original trilogy.

This movie has so many plot holes that it is fitting in that it makes it just like the original trilogy. The trilogy also treats Evil like male pattern baldness for the Skywalker family. Luke and Leia turned out fine, but Ben turned because...there was too much Vader in him?

By that point I had kind of mentally checked out a bit so it was mostly: "oh cool, Ewoks." I wanted them to show up at some point so that was fine. That's mostly what I think about the movie--it was fine.

I want to see a spin off where Palpatine falls in love during the galactic civil war. He can go on dates and buy flowers and snuggle with his lady, all the while he's coordinating the destruction of the rebels.
