We're back at Full Sail for another live episode of NXT! Remember to read the discussion rules on the WWE section of the board when talking about this show and AEW Dynamite.
Whoever wins the Worlds Collide showdown between Rhea Ripley and Toni Storm in Houston on January 25th won't be enjoying their big win for long, as they'll have to defend the title at NXT Takeover: Portland on February 16th against the winner of tonight's big Battle Royal. Announced so far are Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae, Chelsea Green (aided by super agent Robert Stone), Dakota Kai (Tegan Nox has said she's watching), Vanessa Borne, Kayden Carter, Mia Yim, Santana Garrett, Io Shirai, Shotzi Blackheart, Xia Li, and as announced on WWE Backstage last night, the freshly signed Mercedes Martinez. Who will book their place in Portland against either Rhea or Toni?
The Undisputed ERA decided to start Worlds Collide a little early, as they took a trip to Blackpool to attack Imperium at the end of NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool 2. The two mega factions are set to face off in Houston, but will WALTER and his lads storm Full Sail tonight looking for revenge?
One of the most loved teams in the last few years of New Japan Pro Wrestling will reunite in NXT as a part of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Alex Shelley makes his televised NXT debut teaming with Kushida to reform the Time Splitters against former NXT UK Tag Team Champions the Grizzled Young Veterans. Will the old magic still be there, or will James Drake and Zack Gibson spoil the fun? A date with NXT Tag Team Champions Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly awaits the winners.
The other first round match is kind of a throwback to the 2017 UK scene, as Flash Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews take on the Broserweights of Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne. Andrews and Dunne have a long history, co-founding ATTACK! Pro Wrestling, and taking their first wrestling trip to America together, but whose team will go on to face Imperium in the semi finals?
All this and much more tonight from 8/7c on USA in the States and BT Sport in the UK and Ireland!
