So about a month ago there was an interview with Karen Gillan about various roles she would be interested in playing. She mentioned she would like to play Batgirl and not only that, but she would like to try her hand at directing the film as well. I'm am happy for one to hear this,as I have been campaigning for her to be Batgirl for a few years now. Link of me campaigning To hear that there is hope for such a glorious occasion is quite wonderful I must say.😍😍😍 The pieces are starting to fall into place. www.cbr.com/karen-gillan-star-direct-batgirl-film/

Great. I am interested in money and fame from playing a famous comic character as well.
Sorry, I don't mean to be cynical. She can be a true fan of the character. I just have an issue with news articles like this. It's one thing if you are Chris Evans or RDJ who are now done with it. I just feel like most actors would punch their mothers to be in these big tentpole films and get a lot of friggin' money if it does well. I'm sure there's a lot of redhead actresses who would want to do it. Remember before they named Brie Larson as Captain Marvel? I seem to recall several actresses responding to rumors and saying they'd love to do it: Katie Sackoff, Katheryn Winnick are just two of the names I can think of. Same with grey hair male actors for Cable in Deadpool 2.
It's like what is an actor going to say... no? The only actors I can see saying no are those who are established stars. Marvel usually hires those people to play villains who die at the end of the movie: the Kurt Russells and Robert Redfords of the acting world.

She was still relatively unknown for the first sequel, but she was a known commodity by the time she was doing this latest one

So I'm probably gonna get taken to task over this, but isn't she a little old for the part? Most portrayals of her usually make her college age, not 30-something. I guess the movie people can portray her how they want, but it's odd to see DC deviate so much from their traditional canon.

Meh after Alicia Silverstone's portrayal of Batgirl, I'll accept a new version no matter how old...ageist (lol I'm playing I'm playing)

Would be great, just make it consistent with the comics instead of "director driven" or "deconstructed" garbage.
Don't waste a great casting like Karen Gillan as Barbara Gordon on a shit movie.

Karen Gillan is one of those actors who I always enjoy whenever I see her in something, so yeah, I'd be down with this.

She has been for a bit. You let her do what she wants. Her Nebula has low key been of the best performances of the MCU.

I'd be all in on Karen Gillan playing Barbara Gordon.
Supergirl usually tends to be around Barbara's age (if not younger; I think she's equivalent to a teenager in her current comic incarnation). Melissa Benoist is in her 30's and does a damn good job with the character. The DCEU Cyborg was also played by a guy in his late 20's at the time, and that's a character most commonly associated with the Teen Titans.

Karen could play 20s as needed pretty easily. She 32 but if you said she was like 26 or something I wouldn't question it.

Shit, keep her long enough to be Batgirl and later Oracle. She's so great.
