So the entire feud gets decided by Candice LeRae turning heel. OK then.
Not seen it yet, but from reading the write-up, the melodrama was laid on super thick. Now it depends if it dragged as badly as Edge/Orton did.

So you started a thread about a match you haven't seen.
Also, it's debatable if Candice LaRae actually turned heel or not. Ciampa started this shit with Gargano, and then Gargano and his wife outsmarted Ciampa in the end. Maybe she will be turning heel, but this alone does not make her a heel.

So if I've got this right, Johnny's master plan was to wear a cup so when his wife legitimately low blowed him, he wouldn't be hurt... even though she was on his side the whole time. Like... wut?
Between this and the recent Velveteen Dream angle, I think a decent chunk of NXT has as bad, if not worse writing than the main roster shows at this point. It's like a lot is written for short term shock value now. Almost as if Vince Russo's captaining the ship.

I feel it was a heel turn for Candace because if they did not want her to turn she would not have gotten involved especially in the way she did...she helped her heel husband beat a babyface...the last time Gargano turned heel she was never involved to my memory but now she did and helped him so I consider this a heel turn for her.
And also this IF they go the route because it was left purposefully very open by the end this also helps set up Garganos next feud again IF they chose to go the route I assume they would be going.

I’ll say one thing... Cinematic matches are not a concept that works with four or five ad breaks in it.
As for where it leaves the players... It seems obvious that Ciampa and Kross will collide rather than later, while Gargano and LeRae are off to try their luck on RAW or SmackDown probably.

Love those blowoff matches where the babyface loses.

She handed him a bag before the match and one can presume the cup was in it. Candice comes in and suckers Ciampa into thinking he's now got the win after seeing Candice kick her husband in the balls. He moves in for the kill and she nails him in the balls instead. It was all part of the plan. Actually a sensible, logical ending, so nothing Russo could possibly have written.

Love those blowoff matches where the babyface loses. Main roster booking plagues NXT.

You've pretty much repeated my own summary. Where's the logic? Considering they're in an empty room, who is the swerve actually for? Why not just low blow Ciampa from the get go? Why the pantomime act, and even then why legitimately attack your own partner, to the point they need protection for it? It's a swerve for the sake of a swerve.

In general any semblance of logic this storyline had at all vanished from it about two years ago when Gargano decisively beating Ciampa after giving him the chance to surrender, ensuring he was still welcome in NXT in the process, somehow wasn't enough to count as having shown him up and gotten suitable revenge.

I love the way the arena was lit and the way this was shot. The 5 million camera cuts definitely didn’t help my head that was still recovering from an awful migraine.

Love those blowoff matches where the babyface loses. Well to be honest i don't think either are particularly likable. Ciampa is a flat out horrible person who betrayed his best friend and set out to ruin his life. The only thing that redeemed him was breaking his neck which you could say his character deserved. And then you have Gargano who never made up for his initial heel turn and has shown he can be as much of a snake as Ciampa - the guy who corrupted him in the first place. So really neither were the good guys in this story. It was just a battle between two awful people.

I seriously do not care for Ciampa and Gargano anymore. This shit should have ended years ago.

I've yet to see it but Gargano needed this win. He's not been called Johnny Failure for nothing, and his wife having his back shouldn't be shocking really, it's realistic.

Actually Ciampa didn't move in for the kill at all. He finally realized how far it had all went, and was repeatedly saying he was sorry. Not for what he was doing or going to do, but for what he did. Candice attacking her own husband, saying she hates Johnny, made him open his eyes finally to the repercussions of everything he started. Ciampa finally had his "Seth apologizes for turning on The Shield" moment of redemption. It was a nice touch to the double swerve, and I think a fitting ending to the rivalry. Gargano does whatever it takes to get ahead, something that Ciampa did to him in the first place. Ciampa showed remorse, and was sympathetic at the end, something Gargano was in the very beginning. They've switched places. I think it was great storytelling given how bloated the feud had become. Edit: Hell didn't Gargano hit the "Fairy Tale Ending" on Ciampa to win? A nice bow of symbolism on the feud.

A major, major disappointment as the past Gargano/Ciampa matches were awesome sauce but this...might have been as or even more disappointing than the Edge/Orton match.
In fact, the ladder match helped it a bit but this might have been the worst NXT show in quite a while (or at least since the Wednesday Night Wars started).

Love those blowoff matches where the babyface loses. But Johnny won. The face won. Ciampa started this shit. He attacked Gargano after a tag match, breaking up DIY. He then attacked Gargano from behind with a crutch. Ciampa spent months trying to destroy Gargano, and made Johnny and Candice's lives hell. He got injured, which kept Johnny from giving him his comeuppance, and after Johnny won the title he appeared and hugged Johnny. Like everything should be forgiven. Ciampa started it, the Garganos finished it.

From the gifs and analysis I’ve seen of it, looks like it only took them 4 days to ruin “cinematic wrestling”

If you beat up your best friend repeatedly, make his life miserable for 3 years, then when you are having your final battle and it is evenly matched, you want to apologize, that does not make you a face. You deserved to have the shit kicked out of you.
