Murphy is hopeful that we can have some hard dates about re-opening things later this week.

The Gray Lady must have sensed hope among the commoners, and they most certainly can't have that. www.nytimes.com/2020/05/08/health/coronavirus-pandemic-curve-scenarios.htmlCome for the article about how we'll have to social distance until well into 2022, stay for the link to the opinion piece about how we won't have a vaccine until 2036 unless we shortcut important phases and regulatory approvals. Actually, don't. They don't deserve your clicks or page views.

I'll give y'all a minute to recover from your utter shock... Even worse, Wisconsin's (and the Supreme Court's) insistence on restricting vote by mail during the primary election around the same time led to a spike in cases in the state stemming from being out and about for voting, as well. Just a disaster.

My mother won't stop obsessing over the meat shortages. Yeah who cares that these people are being forced to work in horrible conditions and getting sick of it, can't have her think beyond "meat and potatoes!" when it comes to meal planning. Ugh.

This is where people should be frothing at the mouth about their rights being impacted by this pandemic: not in needing to wear a mask in public or hair salons being closed, but corrupt officials rigging elections by creating a scenario where the only way to vote is to risk exposure to a deadly virus.

What an absolute omnishambles the UK government had been from the start. The confused mess if the past few days is going to force many people into unsafe environments and the infection rate shooting back up. They can't even get the announcements and supporting documents released at the same time. Even following it from here, it felt like there were 3 different answers from three different people about what they mean by being with other people or if they can come around your house which, you know, is kind of important to have be the same between all avenues. Once again Piers Morgan emerges with some credit for exposing just what a total shower of shit our government's handling of the crisis has been. If members of the ruling party cannot make sense of their own instructions, then nobody can criticise the general public for being confused.

Looks like New York will start phase 1 reopening on Friday. This includes: -Construction -Manufacturing and Wholesale supply chain -Retail for Curbside pickup -Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishing Cuomo also noted however that only three regions are ready...none of them mine. Not surprising as my county had a slight increase in cases today. Vermont is along fairly similar lines right now, I think construction/landscaping/similar outdoor businesses have already reopened and retail is set to begin gradual reopening next Monday. Gov. Scott calls the whole thing "turning the spigot". There are still morons not wearing masks/gloves and not observing social distance. Since the Governor decided not to make masks mandatory, people up here have taken to shaming their neighbors and reporting where people are being stupid so that others can avoid those areas. I find it hilarious, and I'm sure it's rather helpful for people living in those areas. I live prob'ly about an hour away from the biggest city in the state (where the most positive cases have been reported) and near another decent-sized town (another area where a lot of positives were reported), so I've been masked and gloved the relatively few times I've had to go out. My crazy aunt is still quoting The Stand and spreading bullshit conspiracy theory videos like wildfire. SMH.

It's important to note that with more tests, more cases will be found out. So, a lot of new cases will have been a few weeks old and it'll be hard to say for certain where they come from.
The idea that members of the media would simply assume that a large gathering is the sole reason for a surge in new cases is irresponsible. There's simply no way to know at this point.

I think given the lack of tracing, the best we can go by is what happened after the usual two week incubation period.

Same news here as last week. No new cases. Full recovery of all 27 cases. 250+ more cases came in negative.

Our country's Department of Health did research and from what they found, 43% of the country thinks the worst is over which is the highest since all this started.
We're 4 days away from the final meeting to see if Stage 1 can happen, a week away from Stage 1 starting if it can and there are reports of people breaking lockdown to see family or go places.
I'm pretty worried.

Am the last person in the world to give health advice but data on vitamin D deficiencies is getting very interesting. Maybe a factor in low death tolls in countries with a seafood heavy diet such as Thailand and Japan. www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/12/5/1359

Yep, the GOP does all of this, specifically to rig an election, & it backfires, leading to a democratic win...which was definitely karma for them being jackholes.

If there's any positive peer-review that corroborates this, hooray?
