www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaE9r5cl-3EThis is from 1995 (and Star Blazer is Tim Horner, for those wondering). Apparently, Bart got into that year's World War III ppv battle royal under this gimmick, but I have zero memory of that. An aside: There's a funny little exchange between Dusty and the other commentator when the latter mentions Cutie Suzuki.

I had no idea any of this happened. I thought Star Blazer was a one off jobber gimmick on a Clash around 1990. And I don't know why the hell Horner does that super awkward jaunt to the ring like his arms don't move when he's in that gimmick. I watched WW3 95 somewhat recently and I don't remember Bart being in there either. Did Bart only make the 2 appearances? I always thought the entrance for those 60 men battle royals was intentionally shot not to show you that 10-15 of those 60 guys weren't necessarily wrestlers you had ever heard of.

Did Bart only make the 2 appearances? He lost to Disco Inferno at the Saturday Night tapings the week after WW3 as well. Hard to say if there were more - wrestlingdata and cagematch.net both only have the WW3 battle royal and the Disco Inferno matches listed for him; the Star Blazer match isn't on either, so there's a chance he had others that slipped off the results radar.

This gimmick wouldn't have been long for this world anyway. It's very 80's - early 90's WCW and all that went out the window once Hall and Nash showed up the following Spring.

As a kid I always thought these Saturday Night gimmick wrestlers would go on to big things and Big Train Bart was no different to me. I knew it was Black Bart who had been a lower card guy for years but I thought this one would finally bring him to a higher place on the card. I was primarily a WWF fan but the thing that kept drawing me into WCW was their jobber guys had gimmicks and cool names.

It's amazing to me how little of the lower-tier WCW shows like Worldwide, Saturday Night, etc have been catalogued and documented online.

Never even knew a show called WCW Prime existed. I looked it up and realized why, I didn’t get the Prime network. Also Chris Cruise was having a little to much fun plus he was wearing pure 90’s fashion

A few thoughts:
1) I didn’t realize that Black Bart was that big. 2) Bart actually had a conductor gimmick. 3) Star Blazer won!?

According to my own listings, Bart had one other TV match, against Jim Duggan on Pro.
I want to say Star Blazer had one or two TV bouts around the time of his first Clash appearance, too.

He was a jobber in the WWF in like 1990.
I wish the WWF would have put the Long Raiders back together, I mean Bass was in the company in the late 80's. They could have worked as mid card heels.

Wow, I was watching pretty heavily at the time and have zero memory of this.
Apparently my brain was trying to do me a favor.

I just watched some shoot interview compilation on youtube about wrestler's thoughts on Chris Benoit. There was a few minute section with Black Bart where he talked about this match. He said that it was supposed to be total squash, but Benoit insisted that it be competitive.
