I am totally okay with this.
My only beef with this match was that it looked like Rhea was just there to take a beating. It should have been a more even fight. Instead it seemed like it was Charlotte beating the shit out of Rhea, and then Io sneak attacking either Charlotte or both of them. A more even match would have made the win even better.

Happy Io won but I'm fully expecting Charlotte to win the belt back whenever they have a one-on-one title match. Gotta get past 16 as quickly as possible, then she'll finally be a star! There probably won't be a rematch. Charlotte put over Io and Rhea as the future of the company last night on twitter. But don't worry, you probably won't have to worry about Charlotte not having a title soon. The WWE UK twitter account is saying that her match against Asuka tonight is for the RAW Women's Championship. For what its worth, neither the main WWE Twitter or the WWE.com preview article are reporting it as a title match at this point. www.wwe.com/shows/raw/article/asuka-vs-charlotte-flair

Oh, Charlotte has just chewed Ripley up and spit her out in this feud. And for what it's worth I seem to recall once this became a 3 way predicting that Charlotte wouldn't be the one to eat the pin. They also did a variation on the goofy KUSHIDA/Drake/Atlas finish from a couple weeks ago.

Got to watch the match to give my proper thoughts but good for Io, I told people already she was in the Becky role and they came thru Hopefully, she gets a clean and decisive win over Charlotte as her first title defense before they move into the Rhea vs Io feud proper. Charlotte continues to be a transitional champ to try to make moments for other people but they use that trope so much it isn't working Let the girl work and her proper appreciation. Stop booking her in no win situations I think the thing is while it’s an effective trope because somehow her matches never feel truly predictable due to smark assumptions she’ll win, a lot of smarks also just believe these reigns are only to tie or surpass Ric’s reigns, so ultimately it becomes another nEpoTiSm conspiracy. It still works but they’ve gone to the well with it too many times. Just let her go be great. People going bitch and complain about her regardless and not recognize her talent but she could easily just go into a role on helping other people be better at least for a year

Defeating Charlotte Flair, a genuine wrestling icon, for a title is a boost for anybody, whether she takes the pin or not. She's defeated Charlotte Flair for a title. Merely having Charlotte in the match is a boost. I really hate to what-if but I can't help but think if Becky had been in the spot Charlotte's in, she would have been praised a lot more.
Not only is Charlotte not a wrestling Icon the issue is Rea loses clean to charlotte-> Rea takes a beating and loses Charlotte's Belt to Io-> Charlotte put no one over,Io beat someone with no momentum. when it could have jsut been Rea beats Charlotte at Mania-> Gains HUGE momentum and is put over big -> Io beats Rea one on one and is also a big deal. I hate this argument of "Charlotte adds something just by being in it!" it is just an excuse to shove her in matches she has no business being in

The prophecy fulfilled. And Io Shirai is the common link to both of them prior to WWE. A young Io Shirai teamed with Kana (Asuka) as part of Triple Tails (with Mio Shirai). Io Shirai later teamed with Kairi as part of Threedom (with Mayu Iwatani). Asuka and Kairi weren't ever connected as Asuka had no interest in working with Stardom, which is where Kairi was trained.

Have Io and Asuka met in WWE?
I feel like that has been a meeting people have wanted to see for years.

Sooner rather than later. I expect it will happen once Asuka turns on Kairi....she brutalizes Kairi which signals Io's debut to the main roster so some time next year. I expect them to really tease this at survivor series.

Hopefully this means she’s just ducking out. Is Charlotte known for keeping things kayfabe on Twitter? Because I could’ve sworn she’s broken character a few times there to praise opponents.

Conclusive evidence when Io gets to jump off of really high places she conquers all

Charlotte really doesn’t keep kayfabe. It’s an in between thing really. However, she always puts over her opponents whether heel or face

But...she didn’t beat Charlotte for her belt. She beat Rhea for Charlotte’s belt. Charlotte was in the match and didn't win. The triple threat winner beats both opponents.

But...she didn’t beat Charlotte for her belt. She beat Rhea for Charlotte’s belt. Charlotte was in the match and didn't win. The triple threat winner beats both opponents. If it were as simple as that, fine. But it isn't. Charlotte didn't win, but she didn't lose either. She was not involved in the decision. Io didn't beat her. The reason people have a cynicism to triple threat matches for titles these days is because they're an excuse for a champion to lose without actually losing. So you can have a new champion and either set up a one on one match for the former champ to pass the torch to the new one or, what WWE does most of the time, just have that person leave without actually losing to anyone. Io may have won, but she didn't beat Charlotte for her belt. She beat Rhea for Charlotte's belt.
