Maybe if the champion didn't keep meddling in the #1 Contender matches, maybe they'd stop losing their belts in triple threats all the time. *satisfied nod*

Charlotte was in the match and didn't win. The triple threat winner beats both opponents. If it were as simple as that, fine. But it isn't. Charlotte didn't win, but she didn't lose either. She was not involved in the decision. Io didn't beat her. But there aren't gold, silver and bronze places. One person wins, everybody else loses. Charlotte didn't win the match therefore she lost and it'll always be on record that Io beat two women for the title, which is why Charlotte simply being in the match is a boost.

No, but there’s very clearly a difference of beating a champion for said belt and beating someone else so that champion loses. One means way more in the eyes of the audience. I’m moving on because you aren’t even willing to see my point.

When the former Champion reacts like it doesn't count because she wasn't pinned and otherwise brushes it aside, then it definitely is an issue.

Charlotte just brushing off losing a championship isn't that much different to the OP style booking that Becky had in the months before her taking a hiatus because of her pregnancy, not to start anything, but, no matter who does it, it's not good that someone brushes off losing a championship like it's nothing, Charlotte just being so dismissive and not giving a shit doesn't really send the message that NXT is worth caring about if you don't watch NXT.

Look at Poppy being the bestest of friends letting Io have a break and taking over for her on the night. And confirmed Io Vs 20 opponents coming soon ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

It definitely doesnt look like there will be a rematch where Charlotte puts her over one on one.

It is something I hope gets rectified in the future when Io gets called up (not holding my breath on it though) sometime next year but I am just basking in the glory both Io as champion and no more gawd damn Charlotte on NXT.

As someone who doesn't watch NXT super regularly, when did she turn face? She became too good to be a heel but I didn't see when the turn became official.

They don't always do turns any more, they just subtly start booking them differently based on what they want to do with feuds. Fans usually cheered Io during her entrance and didn't really boo her unless she was interfering or attacking Candice or babyfaces. They did the same with the Kabuki Warriors who stopped using mist and over time starting being more animated and dancing and whatnot. Now they're just babyfaces and get booked against heels.

Sara said it best...Io never had to uproot her life she could have stayed where she was and just collected more titles and more awards for the rest of her life but she uprooted it all to take up a new challenge and prove she wasn't just the best in Japan.
It really fells like the title is finally where it was always meant to be.
