Once again though, it's not HIS fault, so out goes Heyman as the Scapegoat Remember when Heyman and Bischoff were moved to the head positions like a year ago and everyone thought it meant big change? Leave the memories alooooone!

I don't know about having Prichard in charge of both shows but I do agree that Heyman had hit the wall and needed to go. I think Heyman's problem now is he's not terribly interested when his boy Lesnar isn't around, and it really showed in the booking. Raw late last year and early this year at least had some stuff they were building to (McIntyre/Lesnar, Rollins/Owens, Edge/Orton, Becky/Shayna), but now the show doesn't really have two of those people and there's just nothing going on. It's really just "OMG Greatest Match Ever!" and Charlotte being overexposed.
Looking at the PPV on Sunday Raw has McIntyre/Lashley (feels like a reheated TNA main event, even has MVP involved), Asuka/Nia (dear God), Crews/Andrade (decent). Smackdown of late has at least had the IC tourney and the weird Hardy/Sheamus feud. The big problem with both shows is that they are doing nothing with the top champ on either show.

And so Paul Heyman exits as he entered: with a whimper.

SmackDown is always pretty average lease it’s easy to watch.
Raw on the other hand is disjointed mess. There’s been some weeks it gets to our three and they’ve literally not promoted much of anything and it’s like holy crap there’s still another hour to go.

I am indifferent to Bruce for the most part. So long as he realizes that women being a big part of WWE's identity as a brand now, and there's no rolling that back, I don't see a whole hell of a lot changing.

That new like head producer job is just consistently "guy who gets fired when ratings keep getting worse"

It will never matter who is in charge of creative, as long as old man Vince is there, the ship will keep going down. Vince is like those stubborn territory owners from the 80s who didn't know when to step aside when time passed them by.

I am actually worried about Bruce’s health balancing both shows. He had two heart attacks not that long ago.

The word 'led' in the thread title should be in gigantic finger-quotes, so big you can see them from space. We know who really is, has been, & always will be in charge.
Also, same writing team for both shows? New wild-card rule? That hard brand split really lasted, huh?

I don't know how much of what Paul E wanted to get on TV actually made it to TV, but if this stuff has been him then he's out of touch as well. He used some folks that needed used but RAW has been awful. I don't know. I kind of feel like working for Vince McMahon is like having one hand tied behind your back creatively.

If there’s any real noticeable difference, I’d be surprised. Vince has been, is and always will be the grand creative poobah for this company until he passes on.

So long as he realizes that women being a big part of WWE's identity as a brand now, and there's no rolling that back, I don't see a whole hell of a lot changing. the smackdown show to be fair is more watchable and he seems to use a range of the women on smackdown instead of the same suspects on raw

Yeah this is one of those situations where on one hand at the end of the day the final decision lays with Vince so you have to ask how much change there will be. However, as others have said, Smackdown is much easier to watch than Raw and a lot of things that seem to be heavily criticized by fans are things that seem to be more in line with things that Heyman would do.
To humor the idea, there are guys that all reports indicated Heyman wanted to push who are now in worst positions than they were when he was named head writer. Now ultimately that IS on Vince, but from all stories in the past it sounds like if you are someone Heyman pushes for he tends to do it in a way that rubs people the wrong way and gets that wrestler heat.
But to me it boils down to this, Raw has been incredibly boring for awhile now. For me personally I may put it on for background noise if I cannot find something else to watch, but it's just not entertaining or engaging. SMackdown? It may not be great but at least things happen during the show. So since Vince isn't going to change himself he will change the person in charge.
As for Heyman? Brilliant mind for his time, and quite possibly still is very brilliant. But I wonder if he may be the anti Russo where he just cannot work with someone filtering his ideas

Any day now cedric and ricochet will receive the push people said they were under. Said it earlier in the thread but I would not be shocked if these dudes are just waiting out their contracts at this point, ESPECIALLY Ricochet. Dude was one of the absolute kings of the indies and would be so again, or AEW would absolutely go for him. Cedric would have a similar buzz I would have to think.
