So, I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to tracking my music listening with last.fm. I've been using it for about 15 years now, and lately because of some music groups I'm a part of on Facebook, I've taken to making a 5x5 collage of albums I've listened to over the week and posting it. I've been doing it on my Facebook but I feel like there might be more actual discussion here. If you don't use last.fm, it's pretty easy to set up an account, and it supports pretty much every music player and streaming service. Functionality is actually built into Spotify and Tidal, if you use either of those. I also use Rate Your Music to rate albums/singles I listen to, because I'm a ridiculous person with nothing better to do with my life. I'll be posting my ratings of those as well. If anyone else is a member, feel free to add me. Basically I love talking music, and while I love the "shuffle your library and post 25/50 songs" thread, it doesn't elicit much discussion. So if you wanna do this too for whatever reason, just create a last.fm account, then go to this site, enter your last.fm username, and follow the prompts. ANYWAY, here's mine for this week. And the genres/ratings to go with it. Hiroki Kikuta - Secret of Mana OST (1993) | Game Soundtrack | 4/5 Dan Deacon - Mystic Familiar (2020)| Neo-psychedelia/progressive pop | 4/5 King Krule - Man Alive! (2020) | Art rock/post-punk | 3/5 Raspberry Bulbs - Before the Age of Mirrors (2020)| Hardcore punk/post-hardcore | 2.5/5 U.S. Girls - Heavy Light (2020) | Art pop/pop soul/psych pop | 3.5/5 070 Shake -Modus Vivendi (2020) | Alternative R&B/synthpop/trap | 4.5/5 END - Splinters From an Ever-Changing Face (2020) | Metalcore/mathcore | 3/5 The Police - Synchronicity (1983)| New wave/art rock | 4/5 The Receiving End of Sirens - The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi (2007) | Post-hardcore/progressive rock | 3.5/5 Backxwash - God Has Nothing to Do With This Leave Him Out of It (2020) | Industrial hip hop/experimental hip hop | 4/5 Cirith Ungol - Forever Black (2020) | Heavy metal/doom metal | 4/5 The Hirsch Effekt - Kollaps (2020) | Mathcore/post-hardcore | 4/5 Agnes Obel - Myopia (2020) | Chamber pop/art pop | 4/5 Anubis - Homeless (2020) | Progressive rock | 3.5/5 Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (1977) | Soft rock/folk pop | 4/5 Specters - Nostalgia (2020) | Post-punk/jangle pop | 4/5 Jerry Martin & Marc Russo - The Sims soundtrack (2000) | Easy listening/nu Jazz | 4.5/5 Light Dweller - Hominal (2020) | Technical death metal/black metal | 2.5/5 Purity Ring - Womb (2020) | Synthpop/witch house| 4/5 Shinsei Kamattechan - Jido Karute (2020) | Pop rock/progressive pop | 2/5 Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion (2009) | Psych pop/neo-psychedelia/art pop | 4.5/5 Bruxa Maria - The Maddening (2020) | Noise rock/post-hardcore | 2.5/5 Fluisteraars - Bloem (2020) | Atmospheric black metal | 3/5 Karfagen - Birds of Passage (2020) | Symphonic progressive rock | 4/5 Semifiction - For Your Health (2020) | Math rock/post-hardcore | 3/5 See Less

I love this idea! I don't have a last.fm account but I should make one. I use Spotify and also SiriusXM (more SiriusXM than Spotify, really) if this doohickey works with that too.
I'm such a music nerd, so this thread dorkily excites me :)

Let me know if you have any questions, I’m happy to help!

I wouldn't have the first clue how to make one of these, so I'll just say that for the past week I've been listening to these albums:
Huey Lewis and The News Greatest Hits
my custom Best of AC/DC mix
Wordburglar - Welcome To Cobra Island

For now I'll use Spotify to give this a shot. I'm gonna be some weird combo of all over the place and also very laser focused. I go through phases and just wind up listening to one artist/style for a while and then just... stop for a bit. Always been that way.

Here’s what I’ve been listening to this week:
Run The Jewels 4 Xibalba - Años En Infierno Rammstein - S/T and Greatest Hits Enter Shikari - Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible Code Orange - Underneath
And a lot of The Beatles stuff since I finally got round to watching Yesterday last week. Average film that made little sense but the music (apart from Ed Sheeran) was great.

Also if you'd like some help setting it up feel free to let me know, but by no means is this mandatory, it's totally cool to just discuss what we've been listening to. I think it supports SiriusXM! You may need a separate program to record the listens, but beyond that it should work. Let me know if you have any questions, I’m happy to help! Always been that way. Nothing wrong with that! Lately I've been focusing on trying to listen to a bunch of 2020 releases, with some other stuff between, but my tastes are all over the place in general. Here’s what I’ve been listening to this week: Run The Jewels 4 Xibalba - Años En Infierno Rammstein - S/T and Greatest Hits Enter Shikari - Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible Code Orange - Underneath And a lot of The Beatles stuff since I finally got round to watching Yesterday last week. Average film that made little sense but the music (apart from Ed Sheeran) was great. I really need to get around to that Run the Jewels album, and the new Code Orange. They're on my list but my list is SO BIG. Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid, M.A.A.D City Kendrick Lamar - DAMN. N.W.A - Straight Outta Compton I'm not as big of a Kendrick fan as a lot of other people, but Good Kid, M.A.A.D City and To Pimp a Butterfly are absolutely killer. I thought DAMN. was a little bit of a letdown but I know I'm in the minority there.

How is it? the 2000 Chinese album is an interesting, more raw sounding, way way less over produced. and this version has 3 songs with Brian May from Queen. One of the biggest crimes Axl did for the final release was removed Brian May from Catcher In The Rye. This leaked out last year, turns out Tom Zutuat didnt pay his storage locker fees and so this stuff wound up being sold at a locker sale. I will send a PM to you so you can have a listen, its really hard to find online.

Slayer-Reign In Blood Jesus Piece- Only Self Mayhem- De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas I've heard really good things about Jesus Piece. They are definitely on my list of shit to check out. What do you think of them? Also Reign in Blood and De Mysteriis are just absolute classics, I have to put them on at least once a year. I don't care how many people like to pretend like Slayer is overrated, Reign in Blood and South of Heaven are, at the very least, some of the best metal albums of all time.

Ign'ant as f*** beatdown hardcore music. It's mood music, but if all you want to hear is breakdowns and savagery it hits the spot.

I f*** with it, definitely gonna add them to my library. RBExSOB 645AR Nathaniel Radcliff and The Nigh Sweats Lots of old school R&B Animal Collective I literally just gave Animal Collective my first serious listen this week, and I loved the album I listened to (Merriweather Post Pavilion). I feel like an idiot for avoiding it for so long. Last.Fm is always good Metal Inquisitor, Zombie Hyperdrive & Soft Cell have been high on my listening radar recently. I'm not familiar with the other two but yoooo I love Soft Cell so much. I am such a huge sucker for New Romantic and I want to see a big comeback for that genre.
