If some of the people at ringside were friends and family of wrestlers, it makes it hard for me to believe the idea that everyone just cumulatively all agreed not to wear a mask. All of them, completely unfraid of getting anything, taking no personal precautions. Nah, that sounds f***y to me. "We had an option and all chose not to" seems like damage control to absolve the company of what it did.

Wait, so the report is that the tapings had fans there?
Do they mean PC employees and trainees/WWE employees, or were there actual outside fans coming in?

That's not a great idea; having friends and family there only makes sense if everyone's been quarantined together. It's part of what was being discussed with potential plans to bring major sports leagues back, like having the players stay in hotels with their immediate families during the season or something.

I don't watch the show. You mean to tell me that their "solution" to not being able to have fans in attendance was to just invite a bunch of civilian relatives for free? So they can then go and infect countless others at supermarkets, gas stations, dentists offices, etc? I hope this is finally the scandal to destroy WWE. It's disgusting the amount of shit they've always gotten away with. Spitting in the face of a global pandemic resulting in a potentially fatal illness for numerous people takes the cake.

Same with AEW, they seem to have “civilians” in the crowd and/or backstage areas (including kids). Maybe this will be a wake up call for both companies to do actual block tapings once a month or every 6 weeks and stop taping every other week and more.

Supporting WWE can be morally wrong without everyone who watches it being "morally bankrupt" and "totally a bad person". I know the gut reaction is to take it that way, but there's really a question, with everything that the company has done recently, to ask if this is in god conscience a company you can keep financially supporting, because as long as people keep doing that, they aren't held to task at all. I can't speak for Waluigi for Congress, but maybe don't look at it as him accusing you of being a horrible person, look at it as a chance to examine if this is really a course of action you wanna keep taking. Pull away. Cancel your sub. Stop giving them money. If they never get heat for the shit they do they'll never stop doing shit. This. There is no real ethical consumption under capitalism, but WWE is one of the most morally bankrupt entertainment companies I can think of. That doesn't make anyone who watches it a bad person because it's not that black-and-white. But especially with the current social climate, now's a good time to critically examine and evaluate why you still choose to watch or support WWE. I like watching it because I like watching WWE, nothing more than that, no one should be ashamed for being a fan, I know they have shitty practices, but it doesn't affect my happiness with the product, that's my opinion.

It's why I hate it when people try to use AEW as some moral high ground company when they have their own carny processes too

They do at least test everyone though.

One of the reasons why the WWE/AEW comparisons fall flat: anyone in the crowd at AEW will be working the tapings for Dark. WWE just brings in people from the PC that already aren't involved with TV. Not to mention that AEW actually has testing.
I am honestly surprised this hasn't happened sooner. I wonder how many people will follow Roman's lead and take a leave.

All of them, completely unfraid of getting anything, taking no personal precautions. Nah, that sounds f***y to me. "We had an option and all chose not to" seems like damage control to absolve the company of what it did. Alvarez in his rant said that multiple people told him that they said "we don't want masks on our television. If you wanna wear a mask, don't show up." Dunn apparently said "you're not a fan if you're wearing a mask." No bullshit. He said that.

If Seth Rollins wants what’s best for Becky and their future kid, I think it’s best that he take a leave for the time being.

Not sure how I stayed a fan so long. Every piece of media I've seen and the CEO of the company say that everyone who gets behind the curtain is tested. Let's not paint them with the same brush until someone says otherwise. Would say it just illustrates the fundamental difference in the sense that testing was obviously available in Florida, but one company chose to do it, the other made weak excuses not to.

If the vast majority of people there didn't want to wear them, I could easily see the social pressure sweeping up the others. Also the sheer fact that they were willing to entire the building in the first place suggests that these aren't the most COVID aware people. Regardless, if you're not actively mandating wearing masks as a company, you're approving people not wearing them. Add that to the lack of testing and it's a minor miracle they've only had two positive cases.

Those “random” people are employees who work at Daily’s Place. That's not true, unless Daily's Place are employing children during a pandemic. But it does appear people are at least being tested. I'm not sure there's enough detail on their protocol to say it's foolproof (and they definitely haven't been overly cautious during this period) but it's certainly better than nothing.

Yes, and people are going to defend them and yes they have done testing but they haven't done enough in my eyes My views from jump has been if you think you are doing enough, you clearly aren't. Take every precaution you can because you're playing with fire
