Word going around is that Kevin Owens decided to head home instead of take part in Wednesday's tapings. Hopefully more people make similar decisions going forward in the face of all this.

At this point, staying off TV isn’t a half bad thing for him to do, since he’s just losing steam trading wins and loses with Zelina Vega’s lukewarm group in pursuit of Apollo Crews’s US title. Come back when WWE gets its shit together and starts testing people every show like AEW does, and maybe they might actually have some decent material for him when he does show up.

Owens was kinda half assing it lately too from his Twitter at the very least, like he was checking out. I feel like he and Zayn are done with WWE's bullshit full stop. Owens was still going along with it, presumably because of his family and providing for em and such but I wouldn't blame him if he just reached a breaking point with this bullshit like Sami did. Not like he was really doing anything important anyway in this Zelina Vega revolving door. He's basically been in a revolving door since he beat Seth at Mania.

For what it’s worth, Dave Meltzer reports that the talent who’d tested positive was a female talent who has not been used for TV work other than being in the crowd, and had not been used in that role since the 6/9 tapings.

I mean, if she was in the crowd for those tapings, everyone else at those tapings should be sent home to isolate. That’s the long and short about it.

Dave shouldn't be revealing that kind of info. That's borderline violating someone's privacy. It should be up to the person if they want to discuss her positive COVID test

I expect its the same for WWE. I daresay our wrestlers have healthier immune systems than I do, so really wouldn't worry too much about them - callous as it sounds. That's a really ignorant assumption. Autoimmune diseases and other chronic health conditions (the ones that make catching COVID-19 far more dangerous) are often something you're born with or just develop. Wrestlers being in good shape isn't going to make them magically disappear.

And not just that, there's big complications hitting some people hard even without any immediately perceptible risks, where their blood thickens or their lungs get demolished from it. Young people in good shape who go long periods without energy and might never be able to get back up to a certain level of physical activity. This is horrible, but the more we hear about it the more that it's not magically a 'get it then you're fine' thing for everyone, and a wrestler might well see their in-ring career die off entirely if they get a bad enough complication from this.

Look at Roman Reigns, for instance. Dude was wrestling and staying fit for a good bit when his leukemia returned in 2018.

I’m going to lock this thread to ease confusion about the news from today.
