Hey look, further indication that never giving WWE my money again was the right call.

Bigger Picture- This doesn't bode well for any of the major sports leagues does it?

This could also easily happen in AEW too. Not just a WWE negligence thing. They should stop too.

Bigger Picture- This doesn't bode well for any of the major sports leagues does it? No, but I can't picture any of them running for several months without running a single test.

It won't be a wakeup call. And by this time next week, people/fans will have moved onto another controversy to focus on. That's the thing about WWE or most wrestling companies in general. Unless the scandal is MASSIVE (like a wrestler killing someone or another heinous crime), the big news outlets won't care. Hell, most wrestling fans outside of the IWC likely either don't care about someone testing positive, or won't care within the next couple of weeks. At the end of the day, unless something major happens that would make major news networks, most of the US aren't going to care because pro wrestling has a stigma of being carny/trashy. And considering the news is busy focusing on the MLB and NFL situations right now, this will likely fall under the radar. And the MLB/Coronavirus situation is a lot worse than what WWE is doing right now. Both are horrible, but MLB is a whole new level of awful. In saying “wake-up call,” I was meaning for those inside WWE/the industry, not really for the public. I do agree with you, though, that this isn’t going to be a big mainstream news story. It may get some bylines, like the Daily News story (and almost certainly more will pick it up if someone dies or there comes a big COVID outbreak). But barring some huge development, it’s not likely to be a watercooler conversation topic. Statistically their chances of dying are extremely low, but you'd think professional athletes would be mindful of the long term effects of lung damage. Plus when you have someone like Ric Flair there who is extremely vulnerable (old + heart issues), you need to treat this as a gigantic deal. I agree 100% with both of you. But that’s the thing—a lot of people aren’t treating this like it’s any big deal, even those in higher-risk categories. Even the jokes about Flair raise a good point. I could see him (& Vince) taking an attitude of, “Death has thrown everything at me & hasn’t got me yet. It’s not gonna this time either.”

I don’t got much else to say other than Jesus f***, WWE managed to do literally everything wrong but these f***s shouldn’t be running no way so I guess I’m not that surprised

Man, people must be really jealous of the ninjas now since they're the only people allowed to wear masks.

Bigger Picture- This doesn't bode well for any of the major sports leagues does it? Honestly? Apples and oranges. WWE has been insanely negligent and has basically done what they wanted. Sport leagues have been taking months to formulate a plan

When AEW was doing it I was saying why aren't they having people out there in mask and gloves just to continue to drive home the severity of everything; Here might be the answer; Holt shit that second part feels big enough to be its own damn headline.

They've done almost everything properly. It's not hard to do the right thing when you're not ignoring the 800 pound pink elephant in the room.

I mean I guess it’s better that they didn’t force them not to, but still shit that they didn’t force them TO. Everyone knows we’re supposed to be wearing masks at this point. Only the dumbest people are going to think someone looks like a chump for wearing them in the crowd. Seriously. Wearing or not wearing shouldn’t be a question.

Where in that statement do they deny that they told people they're not allowed to wear them?

Where in that statement do they deny that they told people they're not allowed to wear them? That statement doesn’t address it. The tweet claims that fans in attendance weren’t forced not to wear them, and didn’t feel pressured. Obviously that’s not to be taken as a fact without further confirmation.
