Ha, Chicago was a smark town this far back, if what Schiavone is saying is right.

Bobby bringing up the AWA connection. With the greatest AWA worlds champion sitting to his left. Anyway to those watching this match for the first time enjoy it, and for those like me who have watch this match several times its like a warm hug wrestling style.

It's amazing that Kenta Kobashi and Ricky Steamboat never faced each other. Could you imagine the chopping?!

Fell asleep during Austin v Muta so went back and watched the rest of the show this morning with some notes.
Austin v Muta
Bobby Heenan is probably a better singer than Aaron Neville Lot of rest Holds in this match Austin’s middle rope elbow was nice Crowd doesn’t like the rest spots Over the top rope DQ finish utter bollocks Thankfully no DQ for top rope moves which got me to stop watching WCW from 92 Just a way to avoid jobbing
Man Dustin Rhodes looks young here Only a year and a half before he becomes Goldust Buffer interrupts Ventura oops
Sting v Rude
Massive pop for Sting Rude with the big gold looks right I miss Rude’s WWF music Long front face lock by Sting KILLS the crowd, why is a babyface doing this move? Rude went over the top rope but no DQ! Consistency! Harley Race accidentally hits Rude with the chair causing Sting to win Sting holds the belt upside down
Hulk Hogan reference...he’s coming....look out WCW
Bunkhouse Buck v Dustin Rhodes Bunkhouse match
Great way to start the match as Rhodes runs down the ramp over the top rope and clothesline’s Buck Bunkhouse Buck is an awful name Rhodes selling of being hurt is masterful Rhodes jeans with knee pads is a strange look Why let yourself get beat up then blind your opponent with powder? Useless spot anyway because Buck goes right back to beating Rhodes up Buck wins a pretty good match with Knuck shot. Crowd dies though.
Rude v Vader match set up. Yes please.
Vader vs The Boss
Blatant Big Boss Man rip off. Ridiculous. Vader almost crushes Race on the ramp. Ouch. The ref starts counting them out for some reason Boss getting backdropped over the top rope was a nasty spot Vader has a thing about bleeding near the eye Nasty slam from the top rope right onto Vader’s arm DDT off the top rope! Jesus! Boss kicks out of Vader Bomb but a nice top rope moonsault wins it for Vader Boss attacks Vader & Race after the bell Very good hoss match
Teddy Long reference! Holla Holla! Bockwinkel (or the WWF maybe?) strips The Boss of his gimic. Good. Who’s the Boss now Boss Man? Not you
Flair v Steamboat
Both men should enjoy this because Hogan is coming Flair goes over the top rope but no DQ! WTF! Schiavone & Heenan are an awful team on commentary Constant covers by Flair. Flair counters Steamboat’s figure Four with an eye poke nice! Double pin bullshit finish. CM Punk & Cena taking notes. Fireworks for some reason? For that finish? Come on! Heenan does a good job after the match of building intrigue for that result. Schiavone sucks though.
Final thoughts:
Pretty good show. Flair v Steamboat (finish aside), Vader v The Boss, Buck v Dustin & the Hardcore tag match were all great. Pillman v Regal was decent. Muta v Austin & Rude v Sting were boring and had too many rest holds. Over the top rope DQ rule is rubbish. But would definitely recommend this show
