Tensai: a giant Japanese demon god, that learns to dance, gets tricked into wearing lingeire He has never, ever connected with fans in any gimmick. Why on earth WWE kept brining him back and keeping him on roster is beyond me. Those acts of incredible kindness might just outweigh all the evil Vince McMahon has done. They should have had Avatar in the mask the whole match like Paul Diamond as Kato. Al looks awful in that outfit with no real ninja skills. It had to have killed the gimmick before it started. When you're replaced by Bob Holly on a PPV it doesn't look good.

Salvatore Sincere. What the hell was he suppose to be? According to wikipedia, his character was some type of mafiaso. Seriously, how many mobsters dress like this?

Given he was mostly there to put other people over, that's all he really needed to do.

How about Abyss? A masked monster that at times seemed to be a Kane and/or Mankind ripoff, who may or may not have been fathered by James Mitchell and was under the medical care of Stevie Richards. Then, he got superpowers from wearing Hulk Hogan's ring. Eventually, he seemed to disappear and his large, oafish brother, mild-mannered lawyer Joseph Park (or Parks, depending on who made up the graphics that week) went looking for him, only to turn to actually be Abyss. Basically, Abyss is an attitude-era monster cosplayer who may have superpowers and moonlights as a moderately-successful attorney. It like TNA was trying to one up on WWE and their booking of Kane. Too bad we may never get a abyss vs kane match.

A ballroom dancer and a model who are also policemen, but not really.
Mike Rotundo, a patriotic boat captain who is also an accountant, or a Wall Street Broker, or maybe IRS agent.
Mabel, rapping Gothic sex machine monster.
Mike Shaw, quasi-Middle Eastern mentally unstable Catholic monk with awful hygiene and eating habits.

Albert wouldve been a main eventer/upper mid carder if he had some sort of personality/charisma....other than generic big man...very good in the ring but he was missing that one thing....he was a graduate of education for children with special needs, so from having patience and teaching ability and to be fair he's good in the ring, has made him a perfect coach for nxt

I was just thinking the other day about Kane being three different characters in three different years. In October 1995 he was Isaac Yankem, October 1996 he was Diesel and October 1997 he was Kane. Was the ever another wrestler with that many gimmicks in the many years? Maybe Fatu from 1994-1995 but I think Fatu Headshrinker was supposed to be Fatu M.A.D. Tough question. Maybe Christopher Daniels in TNA when he was alternating between his normal self, Curry Man and Suicide? But those aren't really different characters, since they were always *meant* to be Chris Daniels in a disguise. I think. They were different characters They always treated Suicide as being the same person... until way later. Curryman was also not supposed to be Daniels in kayfabe, even though it was obvious it was him. I think Curryman was even around in TNA when Daniels was doing stuff at one point too, but they were not the same person.

Right, Curryman "won" the Fired briefcase, and there was never any expectation it applied to Daniels, too.

The Godfather... a former Black Militant Pimp Daddy with a background in MMA, and Voodoo.
Also the Johnsons. Just the Johnsons... I would have paid money to hear Paul Bearer tell the backstory behind a pair of anthropomorphic wrestling penises.

Doesn't really qualify as a gimmick I guess, but John Nord in WCW. Furry barbarian boots, sunglasses, t-shirt with rude saying.

Given he was mostly there to put other people over, that's all he really needed to do. And more importantly than any of that... Albert was great friends with the Undertaker! So go figure he kept getting fifth and sixth chances when it had been painfully obvious for years that nobody gave a damn about Albert in any gimmick.

What the hell were the gymini supposed to be or the Dicks. Remember when Curt Hawkins had a magic Mike gimmick Gymini were supposed to be two massively muscled guys that got those bodies from using their manager and health guru Simon Dean's "patented" Simon System. The gimmick made sense it's just that nobody cared which is why it lasted maybe 2 weeks. Please explain the Curt Hawkins, Magic Mike gimmick to me?

I’m still not sure how being successful in the World Wrestling Federation was supposed to propel Double J Jeff Jarrett to a successful career in Country Music. See, I've never got this argument. No one in Nashville would sign him, so he'd become famous in another medium so then he could use that power to make his own album. It's not the most out there idea. Let us not forget Mickie James. Who unlike Jeff actually got over in the WWE and created a legit country album outside of WWE.
