The Yeti: a giant man wrapped in toilet paper that broke out of a block of ice and then proceeded to dry hump Hulk Hogan and the Giant on a live PPV in the main event. Why he was dressed like a mummy no one had a clue given Yeti’s are supposedly furry. Then he became a giant ninja for some reason. Story goes the "mummy" costume was a stop gap. The intention was for the "mummy" to be eventually unwrapped and revealed as Giant Gonzalez.
I heard the same thing. That would have been hilarious lol.

Many of the names mentioned were guys who went from crappy gimmick to another crappy gimmick or somehow evolved into a different one. I don't think all those characters were suppose to be the same person(was I.R.S's previous WWF run mentioned when he was playing that gimmick)?
Though it would be funny to see Godfather combine his pimp gimmick with his previous witchdoctor one. He could even bring out some voodoo hoes while he uses an MMA style in his in-ring repertoire.

Hacksaw King Duggan, coming down the aisle with a 2x4, American Flag, Crown and Cape, the All American monarchist! Also pictured with Demolition, adding their leather mask and face paint on top of that! Edit PLUS painting the 2x4 in American colours AND getting it a little crown. This will always be one of my favorite WWF things ever.

Here's another one. during his CWA run, Kamala was a Ugandan savage, but was also a former body guard for former president Idi Amin.

Anybody have an idea what "Wildman" Marc Mero was suppose to be? I know "Marvelous" was a boxer, but it's never been explained what Mero was in the first half of his WWF stint.

Pretty much just a guy. Pretty similar to how "Stone Cold" was meant to be about his demeanor rather than a literal ice person, Wild Man was just supposed to be a good wrestler with some high-flying tendencies.

I am genuinely staggered we've got this far without a mention of Mick Foley.
A basement-dwelling, rat owning 'tortured soul' who was also a wrestling fan growing up & hitch-hiked to MSG. Becomes a hippy goofball turned corporate sellout, who then transforms into a vicious king-of-the-deathmatch psychopath. Who's a babyface.
These three separate characters are all the same person, except when they're not, & all have separate hometowns, none of which are the same as the actual wrestler.
Eventually the 'tortured soul' starts wearing a suit & becomes corporate, but then gets betrayed & gets into a bloodthirsty war with The Rock. A few months later, they're best friends. Mankind eventually turns back into the sadistic psycho, retires, then unretires a month later, & retires again. He then goes by a FOURTH name, & is eventually acknowledged to have a history with ECW. He even appears on their PPV as an ECW hero, & then returns a year later to the same event saying how much he hates the place.
I've missed LOADS out too, like the Goldust stuff. Holey moley.

Actually, it's been explained when we got to know Mick Foley the person that his Dude Love character was something he created growing up inspiring to be a wrestler and when he played it in 1997, it was to go back to his roots to escape his troubled past. They still didn't explain how he became Mankind "the tortured soul," at least from what I remember.

I think DX HHH might fit the bill, in the beginning, anyway. He was pointing at his dick and making crude jokes while also still dressing as a Connecticut snob and coming out to Beethoven.

I know I am quoting your post from last year, but hey, better late than never. I have always surmised that Kama the Supreme Fighting Machine was the same character as Kama Mustafa when he was in The Nation of Domination. However, Kama had slowly evolved into The Godfather while he was still a Nation member. It's not really a stretch if you think about it.

I get they were suppose to be the same person in kayfabe, but Papa Shango was completely separate from those three, unless there was some kayfabe explanation they made about Shango dropping the voodoo crap, and get into MMA during his two year absence.
