I really really really hope this bites this company so hard in the ass. Damage done. Now hopefully there’s fallout.

This was just stupid on WWE's behalf imo. It's caused nothing but bad press for them since it happened. As I said in another thread it reeks of HHH favoritism and wantng to stick by someone despite everything.
It really doesn't seem like it's worth it to walk this minefield. This isn't the first time stuff came out about Dream and now that he's a fixture again it might only be made worse. It's not a good sign WWE couldn't even make a statement about it either, which is looking worse the longer that goes too.
This is just a disaster waiting to happen, while also simultaniously, already happening...

I don't see why they brought him back for that match either ... they couldn't throw any other midcarder they had into the random triple threat?

Assuming Ciampa isn't cleared or whatever, Drake Maverick and Killian Dain were right there, doing basically nothing except being used for fodder on the show. Either of them would have worked and Maverick had built in history with Kushida in three way matches. But WWE stopped giving a shit about Maverick right after their good self pat on the back PR storyline ended with him, which didn't surprise me in the slightest...

Also, Dain would have been a great choice to tease being in the match, since he was in the first North American Title Ladder match, just like Dream was.

And since they’re not pushing him for whatever reason, he can take the fall so Kushida doesn’t have to. It’s just... Velveteen Dream is NOT worth this. Dude hasn’t been the same since his back injury, and people were already iffy on the dude for some of his angles in this return run, and that was BEFORE these accusations, which are not gonna go away any time soon. He wouldn’t be the first talent WWE put a lot of time and investment into just to wash out, and he won’t be the last, so why is it so imperative that he HAD to be back on TV just to lose THIS match (and probably the next one... can’t see him beating Balor). It’s either WWE got info from the police that says that there’s not enough evidence that anything happened, or they really are THAT scummy as to overlook such ghastly allegations just for the sake of him being a homegrown project that WAS kind of working at one point.

Yeah... I don't see how Dain or Maverick aren't the better choices here... neither of them have the baggage that Dream is currently carrying... and you can use the triple threat to showcase them more even if they lose... so Kushida doesn't lose AGAIN... (what's weird is up until May Kushida was doing really well... and then since then he's appeared 3 times and lost all 3.)

Do we know if there has been any investigation of this situation?
I dont mean a WWE one, I mean an actual legal one, with police and lawyers? Has Dream been charged with anything?
I mean, I dont really want to see him just based on the possibility, but at what point can WWE keep him off screen if a) there has been a criminal investigation and he was cleared, or at least not charged b) there hasnt, so they take action without proof and leave themselves open to legal action from Dream for doing so without any proof?
Just playing Devil's advocate, but WWE is a legally bound company, they can't act on morality without meeting legal responsibilities, which are not going to be clear cut.

WWE is a shitty company. In other news, water is wet.

They have kept plenty of talent off screen at home for no other reason than they can't think of something for them to do. Or They annoyed Vince in an asinine way. They can keep whoever they want off screen as long as they like for any reason.

I think the first accusations were the more salacious of them. Aren’t this person’s claims that they messaged each other a few times when he was 16 and Dream was 19, and then lost touch for a few years and then more recently Dream asked him to show off his body? Nothing illegal as far as I can tell. Has there been anything from the first accusers though who are currently underage and had Dream send them explicit photos? I’d be curious to hear what they had to say. Obviously that would be a crime.

What happened with this bloke certainly isn't illegal but he published and backed up claims made by another person where he's coming into it as a friend of Velveteen Dream and saying that there was grooming and making certain things seem more acceptable. Fuller is coming out and saying that this sort of thing happened with him and he can confirm that it's the type of thing that happened with other accusers. For god's sake, Dream told a 15 year old in DM's that f***ing is the best cardio. Dude's a creep

Like I said in the other thread. People need to stop giving WWE the benefit of the doubt on anything. If you think WWE did a second of actual investigation into the Velveteen Dream situation, you're a fool. This is a company that blatantly lied that they had the best COVID-19 testing in place when the reality was they were taking temperature checks and letting everyone walk through the door, and then didn't do actual testing until they had an outbreak.
If you like and want to watch and support WWE, go right ahead, more power to you. Just don't treat other people like idiots and spin a huge yarn about how, "Well they MUST believe he's innocent if he's back on TV! There's a 0% chance they'd put him on if he wasn't!"

If people can stop giving WWE the benefit of a doubt when it comes to storytelling/booking, they can do it for how they handle stuff like Covid checks or investigating pedophiles on their roster.
