Almost like if you spend months conditioning people that the women's segments don't matter then they won't think they matter.

They had a hard time starting the car on the Women's Division after Double or Nothing, at least they're doing something now. You just gotta keep at it and they'll tune in again.

I honestly think FTR vs PP was a bad choice to try and capitalize a lead-in.But still cant complain of the number I still think the 8 man would be a better choice. A huge variety of talent that stands out. Pentagon and Luchasaurus could keep eyes by themselves

I absolutely shocked they managed to pull such a big rating under those circumstances. Kudos to the fans for making it a point to watch the show.

I would say AEW passed TNT test. They could have put AEW on Thursday this week. Since there was no NBA on. But decided to put on Saturday between 5 and 6 for a reason. That reason IMO was to test how AEW show would do in that time slot. Since they still did 755 and .31 in 18 to 49 against competition. I have a feeling they will be announcing 2nd show one hour show for Saturday at 6 or 7 eastern time in the next few weeks.

So is Saturdays at 6 the planned time slot for the second show in the works or something? Also means on a PPV night it could be like old school Sunday night heat as the lead in live from the arena.

Right now if you look at tvguide for September 5th. TNT has one hour AEW show listed from 430 to 530 central time. www.tvguide.com/listings/All Out is this night but it appears TNT putting hour show on TNT that day too. Ideally it would be on at 5 to 6 central leading into the buy in show. But NBA is on that night on TNT. So could be starting half hour early for that reason. So could this be debut of the new one hour show with normal time being 5pm central or 6pm central time?

According to Pwinsider All Out Countdown show was suppose to he after Dynamite on 9/2. But I don't see it listed on tvguide. So maybe they moved it to Saturday? Or were getting Countdown show Weds and new show before All Out. Who knows but I have a feeling we are getting 2nd show on Saturday night sometime in the next month or two. www.pwinsider.com/article/138756/updated-aew-dynamite-on-tnt-broadcast-schedule.html?p=1

Is this really that good in the sense that they were well over 900k last week? Back to back weeks above that number would have been a great accomplishment The show your thinking of was the one that had Moxley vs. Darby for the AEW Title. That was like 3 shows ago.

Wow you can tell the delay f***ed them a bit but as soon as people realized it was on the viewership actually exploded. Big ups to Kingston being the peak viewership of the night, maybe that's why he winked Anyway I'd say all things considered, things went really well this week and you'd think Thursday would be even better for them with no delay and less wait time. The delay didn’t seem to hurt them. Their highest viewership in Q1 was due to the NBA viewers hanging around. They should have opened with something hotter than FTR - PP to maybe hook a few new viewers.

I can't imagine that they structured the show caring too much as to whether or not it drew, since it was a long shot on paper that they'd do nearly the number they did; the show to really go all out on is the unopposed one in a few weeks.

UFC has a 5 year 1.5 billion dollar contract with ESPN. NASCAR has a 4.4 billion ten year contract with NBC. AEW beat or tied them both, in the demo that advertisers pay for, on a random Saturday night, with a far smaller contract with TNT. People want to keep discounting their success, but if I'm an executive or advertiser, I'm paying attention. Unfortunately, historically advertisers don't like wrestling. It has something to do with wrestling fans not spending enough. Basically they think we're broke. Or at least don't spend the sort of money that say fans from nfl or nba spend.

Advertising is in a weird space nowadays; 18-49 is still considered the main demo, yet the trend of wealth not going to younger people that's been going on for a long time but really kicked into overdrive with the '08 financial crash and the current problems has also created a perception that young people aren't going to spend like previous generations of 18-49 year olds did. The wealth is basically all with the Boomers, who get things like luxury car commercials attached to the sports they watch. Still, advertisers aren't going out of their way to put money towards wrestling shows, by and large; unlike marquee shows or sporting events, wrestling usually gets grouped in with general ad buys for a channel. I'm guessing AEW could benefit from that on a Turner network given the NBA connection; if TNT is consistently doing strong with 18-49 between the NBA, some shows, plus AEW, then AEW likely gets grouped in with those other shows and products that might be perceived to have more disposable income. Either way, a study of AEW's audience at some point down the line would be welcomed. I feel like they've shown the best possible chance of reaching "non-traditional" audiences (well, "non-traditional" since the 90s or so, I guess) among most other televised wrestling shows in a long time, so who knows?
