Buzzr started airing Classic Concentration recently. I don't like the game. Alex is great on it but the game aspect just doesn't work for me. One of the very few board games my parents had kept from their youth was Concentration. Played it a bunch and enjoyed it. Watched Classic Concentration when I could and, while not the same as the old game, it was enjoyable. I remember virtually nothing about the game or show now, except that enjoyment. Sometimes... that's enough. RIP Alex.

This is completely unimportant, but Jeopardy’s ratings are probably going to climb up through Christmas aren’t they?

Rules are slightly different and a different bonus game, but it was 1) a bit more challenging (ESPECIALLY the Double Play round) and 2) a bit more fast-paced. (Okay, Classic C players, we KNOW you are looking for a match or wild card under number XX...)

As an aside, he still had a mustache in my mind even though he shaved it years ago.

I still feel sad, though he isn't suffering anymore. I was so excited about being a Jeopardy contestant, for Halloween, a d their Twitter page liked the picture!! I was so happy.
I just pray for his family, for peace, and thank them for sharing him with us.
I can't handle anything happening to Pat Sajak.

Or when Alex called Mr. Okerlund “Jim” during a backstage segment. RIP. Thanks for reminding me how much more creepier Mania 7 has become....and Regis in the same year. Another sobering stat: there was a Card Sharks tournament of game show hosts in 1980. With Alex's passing and earlier, Tom Kennedy's, I think only Wink Martindale is the sole survivor of that. Including Jim Perry and Gene Wood. Seriously, though, been a fan since High Rollers and Battlestars. I knew this was a possibility but still hits me hard. That Alex continued working till the very end is honorable, and in the face of the two big C's. RIP. Other messed up stats that I just remembered/discovered.... Hugh Downs AND Orson Bean both died this year too. So 2020 has also wiped out the last of the Concentration hosts. Art Fleming also died from pancreatic cancer.

Had the pleasure of seeing a taping of the College Tournament several years ago. Alex was charming and answered questions from the audience between the shows & between the single & double jeopardy rounds. It was great. RIP to a legend.

Also, now, of all the shows to currently air on Buzzr, only three hosts there are still with us. And the hits keep on coming. (David Ruprecht, Bob Eubanks, and Jon Bauman, BTW)

Rest In Peace. His autobiography is great and I highly recommend it.

End of an era. RIP, Alex; your courage and humanity in the face of your cancer was absolutely inspiring, and I’ll miss you, man.
