Same, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's a face (with no explanation) when he returns. Some heel will be in the ring cutting a promo, Seth will come out and Curb Stop him while Cole's like, "THE MESSIAH IS BACK!" or whatever.

There’s some theories going around that he refused to be in the ring with Matt Riddle (something he apparently went on record saying was true, after Riddle’s wife made comments about Becky) and this was his way of getting out of that match. Ridiculous of course..maybe?

I could certainly see him being unwilling to wrestle Matt, but they could easily work around that if that was all there was to it, like him getting caught with a surprise Brogue Kick. Having him intentionally take one is one of those things where it reads like they either have an idea or just want to leave room for a retroactive one, but it's either going to make no sense or be tossed out for "hey, hot return".
