Could be unrelated, but Meltzer has also said that Omos is still VERY green and the AJ partnership is both to get him TV experience and to buy him more time to learn to work since all he has to do right now is stand there and be big. I've seen a couple of his matches, and he was the absolute drizzling shits, he was even bad at standing around being big. There was a battle royal he was in where he looked genuinely lost at points and clearly didn't know what he was supposed to be doing.

If only there was some kind of system in place where less experienced talents could hone their craft without being exposed in front of millions. A developmental system, if you will. Except NXT can't do live events aside from TV right now and you can't put all the green guys on TV unless you want to sabotage the show.

Ever since NXT became Triple H’s legacy vanity project, it’s been less about bringing out raw potential from rookies and polishing established talent and more about putting on weird super indy meets NWA tribute shows. No wonder they clutch to Velveteen Dream. He’s the only homegrown guy they’ve made in like 7 years

It's also for him to have photos taken with every hot prospect when they sign, and show up on TV going "We are NXT" and applauding at the end of matches so that everyone is still looking at him.

According to PWInsider, the wrestlers who have been made to go to the PC to improve are Otis, Keith Lee, Mace, Dabbo Kato, and Omos.

Wait, THAT Keith Lee?
I mean, I get there’s often handwringing about “Too many big men working like small men” but that doesn’t mean trying to change the best one of them.
Like, I don’t know what training they do in terms of dummy matches that aren’t taped for TV, and there’s no house shows anymore for them to get reps on the road, so all we can go on is what is ON TV, which eliminates Omos (no TV matches at all) and Dabba-Kato (only Underground matches this year), which leaves Vince cracking it over Lee, Otis or Mace. Mace has only been in tag matches and is a minion heel, you don’t get to show much in that role so I doubt it’s him. Otis largely works like a conventional big man other than his comedy spots so I doubt it’s him. So by process of elimination, it seems to be Lee, and since he got the winning fall in his match at Survivor Series, whatever happened must have happened VERY recently, either in the match against Lashley or the triple threat against Styles and Riddle. I know there was a weird plancha spot where he hits his head on the apron on the way through, so that sounds like something that could trigger Vince.

Even Mace is egregious here, since the booking of him and his faction as ineffectual goobers isn’t really helping matters.

I understand the likes of Omos who was said to be just the absoloute shits...which idk what they expect out of a guy that large who likely has the mobility of a steamroller.
Daba Kaito is another I understand why they would send him back for "refinement"
But Otis is a more than fine worker so idk what the problem here is.
And then we get to....what kind of gawd damn weed is Vince smoking what is it laced with because it shot his warped sense of reality through the roof because this man apparently believes Keith Lee needs improvemet...the same Keith Lee that had MOTY bangers with Dijakovic in NXT.

If you think Keith Lee needs to learn how to work, maybe you are just a shitty booker.

It's amazing how this company can feel like nobody is in charge while having one person Extremely In Charge.

Otis - a actual medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling at the Pan-American Games - doesn't know how to "work?"
I wonder if Otis and Keith Lee are being sent with the others to help train them or something and wires got crossed. Otherwise, this makes very, very little sense even by wacky WWE standards.

The E doesn't deserve the gulf of talent they get regularly.

Dabba Kato and Omos are the only names that make sense on that list.
Mace/Brennan might make some sense, but he’s a good worker that’s largely being hampered by Retribution’s booking being so ass.
Otis and Keith Lee, though? Utter nonsense.

It’s a weird f***in’ story to start with. First quote from the Observer makes it sound like Vince has chucked a wobbly and ordered them back to the PC beginners class. Second quote from PWInsider makes it sound like just some extra big man-specific drills to keep on top of things, no mention of a tantrum.
But at the end of the day, it’s Vince we’re dealing with here, so who knows why anyone does anything anymore.
