Obviously, nWo and Four Horsemen were the top WCW stables and most popular, but WCW tried a lot of stables over its lifetime. What were your favorite ones? I always had a fondness for the Filthy Animals. I'm a rare "devil horns Rey Mysterio" fan, and I actually liked the group. It helps that I liked one of their themes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdW46sYz3O4"Wait, why does that sound familiar?" You are possibly thinking of the legendary JR rap, which used it, too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=is2U-V2kdMMSo, Misfits in Action, Raven's Flock/The Dead Pool/Dark Carnival, York Foundation, Jersey Triad, etc. There are many to choose from, so what do you pick?

For some reason, I liked that low card group that Teddy Long was managing in the late '90s. Ice Train, Joey Maggs and Jim Powers were involved, IIRC, mostly on the weekend shows. We often credit Russo for that "everyone on the card has something going on" mentality (which of course went all sorts of places, not all good), but WCW was doing it before he arrived in even little ways like this.

The Flock always irritated me. There's a man that's van and hammer at once, yet a bird was their leader. That said: It's my favorite. Felt important, had a conclusion, got Saturn and Kidman over. I don't mind they never went beyond midcard, cause they're protected enough within.

Dangerous Alliance Varsity Club Definitely couldn't consider the Dangerous Alliance a "lesser" faction. It was the main heel stable during its period and is remembered fondly. The same could sorta be said about the Dungeon of Doom. At least the part about it being a main heel stable. Not sure whether the majority of fans remember it fondly.

Yeah, I considered addressing this in the OP, but I figure it can count just since the Horsemen and nWo are the main ones put over in any retelling of WCW. Anything else rarely gets put on anywhere near that pedestal, even if the DA and Dungeon had their moments in the sun.

The Dancing Fools. The three man version, of Disco Inferno, Alex Wright and Magnum Tokyo. They nearly never won, but I still thought they were hilarious.

Short lived, and came at a rough time in WCW, but The Revolution could have been great.

If the NWO b-team hadn't been beset by that bizarre "WE KNOW THEY'RE LOSERS AND THIS IS PART OF THE STORY!!" then they coulda been interesting. It is incredibly frustrating when bookers throw performers under the bus because of their own bad booking. Norton alone deserved better.

Dude had a great look, was a legitimate tough guy and could have been a star. The fact that they were positioning him as a player during the early days of Nitro is proof that they saw something in him, too. But then the nWo changed the way wrestling operated and the rest is history.

I enjoyed the Mortis, Wrath and Sinister minister faction in WCW, and the Jersey Triad, but I'm a big Kanyon mark.

Short lived, and came at a rough time in WCW, but The Revolution could have been great. The Revolution had serious potential as a faction of undercard guys revolting against the establishment, but when Russo took over, turned them heel, and then made them an anti-American faction, it died a serious death. They ended up realizing a little bit of their potential as a group in the WWF as The Radicalz, though. Though, not having Douglas a mouthpiece might have hurt them.

But then the nWo changed the way wrestling operated and the rest is history. It really is a damn shame. I've been a big Norton fan since I started watching in '97, and honestly it's amazing he made that much of an impression on me then because he didn't do much at that point, but he just was an extremely imposing looking dude and worked real great in the ring.

For some weird reason, Jimmy Hart's First Family. Yes, they were mostly featured on Saturday Night and on Thunder to some extent, but it was a fun little faction they had. Hell, they had Jerry Flynn as a member!

The York Foundation had legs if they went with it. A stable that’s mathematically figured out how to beat their opponents and often involves hitting someone with a computer. It’s great dumb wrestling fun.
