Winter storms are sweeping all across the US. Here in Memphi, we’ve already had some of the coldest weather I can ever remember in the area. We’ve had freezing rain, sleet, and now it’s snowing. By this time tomorrow, they’re calling for as much as 12 inches. That amount of snow just doesn’t happen around these parts. 2-3 inches is a lot for around here and even that is few and far between. Anyway, hope everyone’s staying safe and warm. What’s happening in your neck of the woods?

Here in Cincinnati, they’re calling for 8-12 inches. It’s not uncommon for us to get snow in winter, but typically on the order of 1-3”—maybe 6” occasionally—but this much in a single storm system is pretty unusual. The entire state of Ohio is apparently under winter storm warnings over the next couple days. Plus we’ve already got about 4-6” on the ground from the storm last week, which dumped more than was expected. And they’re watching for another possible storm about Thursday. Sounds like it could be a pretty active week ahead.

I can relate. In Little Rock we've gotten an inch or two last I checked. I hear there's a potential it can reach up to 8 inches by Thursday but we'll see how that turns out. At the very least we'll probably get between 3-5.

In Fredericksburg, VA.....we had a 2-3 inches snowfall that followed a 1-2 inches snowfall a few days earlier. Good news is because the temperature is around 30-40, it doesnt stick to the roads too much and the sun melts plenty of it away.

They're saying 5 to 6 inches of snow over night with more coming Monday night. Lows nearing zero with highs in the low teens, wind chills anywhere from -10 to -20. Also rolling blackouts because of the stress from not only people heating their homes but from all the things that come with people being stuck at home. Roads weren't too bad but they'll be hell tomorrow with the new ice and snow.

Down here not far from Jackson MS we got a pile of ice and sleet today. Suppose to be snow later tonight. Local weather claims we will get half to an inch of snow. Which will shut down everything.

Snow as far down as Northern Louisiana and Central Mississippi, but mostly rain up here in New York City.
Sweet!
After digging out about 2 feet of snow in the last 2 weeks, I'm about ready for the winter to come to an end.

I got around a foot (30.48 cm) of snow at my place (near Seattle) over the last 3 - 4 days. The 7 day forecast calls for low temperatures above freezing, so much of it will probably melt over the next few days.

A -22 degree forecast for my neck of the woods tonight. Closest I’ve ever seen to that level of cold was two years ago when it got down to -15.

-18 outside right now (not wind chill, actual temp)
Some of our equipment is having a diesel gelling starting to show up. Couple of coworkers had their water lines freeze outside their house. Second year in a row for that around here. People are starting to rethink the 6ft frost line but still don't believe in climate change. Heard about a half dozen "I could use some global warming about right now har har har" lines this morning.
What a great monday

We were supposed to get heavy snow with the possibility of an inch of sleet. The line moved and I wake up for an Ice Storm warning running from 1 PM to 1 PM tomorrow. My second in a week. And we have another ice storm set for between Wednesday and Thursday.
Bluntly, if the power goes, it’s not coming back for a few days. So... yeah.

As a guy who lives in Northern Ontario, I'm pretty used to 12 to 15 cm dumping. Somehow this massive storm is missing us entirely.

Got a lot of consistent snowing yesterday. Tomorrow is supposed to be 90% likelihood of more snow(and even worse than yesterday), and it is currently -8 but feels like -29 with wind chill. This is by far the coldest it has been here in at least 3 years potentially 5. It normally does get cold like this at least once in winter, but it is usually in December or January, almost was never in mid-February like this.
I was just getting used to our more temperate winters, too.

We’re just coming out of that brutal cold snap but we aren’t supposed to get any snow. I’ve got less the a foot of snow in my yard, hell a lot of it is probably less then 6”.

This seems like a weaker version of “Storm of the Century” 1993. That covered a huge swath of North America.

We got a ton of ice that knocked our power out for several days. Worst ice storm in our area since 1998.
