I missed the subtitle, apparently it's the off season. Not sure how much you can mine for a show about hockey with no hockey...although, there's no such thing as an off season for kids in hockey anymore.

So like the mythical Phoenix rising from the ashes, so does this thread and Game Changers season two begins. {Spoiler}Well they wrote out Bombay about as well as they could. Just a quick line about him needing to repair the rink and everybody moves on. I'm guessing Disney hopes to reconcile things with Emilio Estevez at some point so he can return to the show. And we got a Fulton cameo out of it so it's all good.
So we start off with a Ducks tradition - team members disappearing with no explanation! Cosplay Girl (Lauren) and Hair Boy (Logan) are nowhere to be seen. At least it's nobodies twin brother this time around.
And speaking of "Ducks", man, the Don't Bothers were really quick to start taking up the name and jerseys of their old rivals the second they could. I mean, they earned it, but it still feels like they're wearing the enemies uniforms.
Sadly they did not go with my idea for a Coach T redemption story this season. Nor do they really address that a lot of his players were fed up with him and seemed ready to defect to Bombay's team at the end of last season, which I thought would've been an interesting story to tell. But I guess they wanted a relatively fresh start.
I liked the way the "icebreaker" went. It didn't go as embarrassingly for the Ducks as you'd expect, with the more accomplished players like Sofi and Evan and even Sam holding their own, with Nick being... Nick.
I actually think they missed a golden opportunity to play up Sofi wanting to leave at the end, mentioning that this kind of hyper-competitive environment was the reason she left Coach T's Ducks in the first place. Hopefully this will come up as the season continues.
Also Alex came off infinitely less annoying in this episode then she was last season. I'm guessing because now it's less about her issues and disappointments in life, and more she's actually there for the kids and the team.
At the end of last season I really wasn't sure if they should give this show a season two, even less sure when Estevez flaked out on them, but this was a solid and promising start. I'm curious to see where it goes.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I’ve spent basically my entire life in a hockey rink. From age 6 right up until now when I’m typing this instead of being asleep for work tomorrow like I should be, I know why the cast has to be, but there’s no hockey team on planet Earth as ethnically diverse as the Mighty Ducks. Second, ain’t no poor kids on planet Earth playing summer hockey. That’s $10K. Minimum. A full half of those Mighty Duck goals…not goals. The half-assed Michigan was, the bizarre goalie goal was, the girl who actually scored was, the rest, penalties and not goals. I just wish someone would make this show that’s actually seen hockey before or knows how any of this works.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think it would be best for everybody if the Ducks did leave that camp. Alex was right last season, a junior pee-wee hockey league should be about the kids having fun and too many people lost sight of that. But that's not what this camp is about. The camp is about honing your hockey skills into school scholarships and possibly careers. That's not always gonna be fun. And frankly none of the Ducks are on that level, with the possible exception of Sofi who's made it abundantly clear she doesn't want that. They're just taking spots away from kids who can really use this for their future.

2 episodes in and I'm not sure this season was actually necessary in the first place. Season 1 ended on a high note and would have been a fine one-and-done show, but having a second season just seems like they still want to milk the franchise. Not to mention that it seems kind of predictable what's going to happen. I'll stick with it, but it's not a high priority for me.

Yeah, I'm kinda iffy on this episode. It came together in the end, but the whole "Nick is pathetic" stuff was really rough to watch through most of it.
And Alex is getting annoying again. I mean, she was annoying last season too, but at least she was also right. Here she just keeps missing the point of the place. It's not Camp Anawanna, the kids are supposed to be there to turn their hockey skills into something more in life.

I enjoyed the episode, I mean, it’s for kids, but there was at least 6 quality jokes and a couple of those were legit funny.

{Spoiler}Gee, I wonder if Alex is gonna take Cole's son in the Draft, and fix his swing because there's not massive pressure on him and he's playing for fun.

Not sure why's worried about going pro, when he's 13 and the Bantam draft is a more pressing concern, or because he's American, going NCAA

Finally watched this weeks episode. I'm really behind in a lot of my streaming.
Was this episode shorter then the first two? For some reason it just felt like it flew by.
Interesting creative choice not to have any of the main six (... why does that sound familiar?) chosen for the big game. I mean, I guess it's for the best story-wise.
Not looking forward to the inevitable Evan-Sofi-Jace love triangle.
I am enjoying Hustler Maya. She was a character I really slept on in season one but I'm kinda growing on in this season. Also loved the kids running the candy betting pool, that seemed very 90's kids sport movie.
I guess I'll see where Alex coaching the team goes. It could be interesting, but it's hard not to see it just becoming Alex being even more annoying.

Decent episode to set up the rest of the series of everyone learning a lesson. Nick remains the best part of the series.

{Spoiler}Watched the latest episode. I enjoyed it. I liked Alex and Nick wheeling and dealing to get that number one draft. Although Alex naming her team "The Mighty Ducks" was really self-indulgent. Call them "Team Underdog" or something.
Honestly not much more to say, episode played out well. Nothing to complain about.

{Spoiler}What they're setting up here isn't how a round robin format works. Which is fine, but they should have known that. Gordon can't be bothered to show up and help, but at least he gave Mrs. Santa's Sister the number for the Ducks, so I guess that's something.

Does Charlie work for the Ducks?
