{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}What they're setting up here isn't how a round robin format works. Which is fine, but they should have known that. Gordon can't be bothered to show up and help, but at least he gave Mrs. Santa's Sister the number for the Ducks, so I guess that's something. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}The question is, is this leading to the cameo we've all been waiting for? Does Charlie work for the Ducks? {Spoiler}Maybe but I’ll wager doubtful as last season it was established Charlie and Bombay fell out. If they want to go that route, that need to reconcile on screen. But I guess Charlie could always help the Ducks just because but it feels lacking without Bombay there too.

I have been meaning to mention how much it bothers me how they spend so much time practicing on the leisure rink instead of an actual hockey rink.

Watched the latest episode, was really disappointed in it. I was really hoping that between Alex' emphasis on teamwork, the pre-existing chemistry between the Ducks and Nick's scouting, they'd at least present the team as being competitive in this tournament. They don't need to start off winning, but just showing them holding their own and scoring a few goals on some of the other teams to give them some hope spots. Then they get crushed by Team Dominate and fall into a funk. And I'm pretty sure that's where they're gonna go with the remainder of the season, but starting off with them looking pathetic and magically turning things around is just them telling the same story from the first season and it all feeling so worn out.

Well, that was an episode that happened.
It’s why these should be movies and not a series. They stretched the 4 minute scene in the original of the kids skating and meeting a couple NHLers into a full episode.

Was thinking that the phone message that Alex left at the end of the previous episode was leading to Charlie's return.

I didn’t think that, with the establishment of Bombay and Charlie falling out, them needing back together is something that needs to happen on screen. I was hoping someone in the Ducks would be an ex D5 Duck, instead of an obviously gay caricature.

Eh, it really doesn't make much sense in the story of these kids. Btw, I don't like what they are doing with Evan this season. His perspective and actions are 100 percent understandable and justified. Glad Nick gets it.

Finally watched the latest episode. Another "meh" one from me. It just feels like the kids are just learning the same lessons they learned last season.
Evan wanting to be Team Dominate's captain would've worked better if somebody else on the team proposed it. Somebody else noticed that while AJ was the better player, he was all about himself and Evan was actually trying to help the team as a whole. The way they did it just makes Evan look really arrogant, even if he is right.
Also not particularly thrilled with Jace as the Ducks captain. He did absolutely nothing to earn it and I'd rather have seen it go to Sofi or Nick.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}And on a completely illegal goal, the Ducks go on to whatever it is they’re going on to.
Here’s what happens when you actually do it.

{Spoiler}It's the Mighty Ducks universe, shit that wouldn't work in real life is unstoppable, and shit that would be illegal gets to happen. I'm really not feeling this season.

I really does seem like a complete idea of what they wanted for this season.

Finally watched the latest episode. Another one where I'm mixed on. The jokes are funny and the I'm feeling for the kids, but the show keeps wanting to focus in on the wrong things.
Rich Eisen continues to be low-key one of the most entertaining parts of the show.
So after a couple of episodes of portraying the Ducks as pathetic, we finally see them turn things around, build up a win streak and make it to the finals. And we see all of that in a four minute montage. ::sigh::
Ok, so we have thoroughly demonstrated that Koob's goal is illegal, but earlier in the montage we saw Fries score a point by deflecting a puck off of his shoulder. Is that legal?
Evan's journey to prove himself and his pep talk for Team Dominate at the end would've carried more weight if we knew more about other members of the team besides Evan and AJ. Some showing that they actually consider him a friend and respect him for how he's trying to help the team.
And again, Jace suddenly being the Captain and team leader of the Ducks just continues to not feel right. He's done nothing to earn it. They really should've given that spot to Sofi.

Yeah, it’s fine using your shoulder. The ones that don’t count are hands (can’t bat it in), feet (kicking), or your head (like a soccer style hit), anything incidental is fine. Mostly they don’t want you kicking or swinging your stick around.

Before I started tonight’s episode I thought I should go back and answer that question someone asked me on why {Spoiler}the goalie goal shouldn’t have counted. They didn’t understand that rule. Evidently that was a dream I had because I can’t find the quote.

Alright, watched the latest episode.
Once again, I really feel the whole episode would've hit better if they had done more to flesh out more of the members of Team Dominate.
So Nick and Maya, huh? That's not a pairing I saw coming. Honestly, Nick liking girls in general is a bet I would've lost. Not judging, just saying.
On a scale of one to ten on the Cheese-o-meter, that sing-a-long at the end scored a solid twelve. The whole thing felt like something you'd get from an old episode of Spin and Marty. Does Luke Islam have something in his contract that says Koob has to sing at least once a season?
And hey, Jace is cured. And it just... happens. No advice, no pep talk, he's just suddenly able to shoot good again. What's with the show building up these seemingly important plot points and then wanting to spend no time watching them get resolved?
And Coach T's back. I gotta give the show some credit for their dedication to wanting him to be an unrepentant, unsympathetic bad guy, you really don't see that anymore.

You don't remember it, because it was like a 20 second scene, but they sang around a campfire at the end of D2. This season is all about making minor scenes in the movies into full episodes. Nick is the best part of the show and I don't know if it's the kid or how he plays it, but yeah...I gotcha.
