I've been wanting to do this poll for awhile, I just kept forgetting about it. I just thought it would be interesting to see which modern composer you guys think is the best. I know the list is limited, I only went by the guys I knew from memory, the other option is there of course. Hopefully the results will be interesting.

As much of a Star Wars nerd as I am...I'm gonna have to go with Nobuo on this one. His music is just amazing to me.

Duh, John Williams. The sheer number of memorable movie tracks that he has made is staggering. Even if his list of songs wasn't long, just being responsible for The Imperial Death March would have gotten my vote.

i'm looking for famous qualities and noteriety...in this case, quincy wins for putting people on the map. Half of those people I just don't even know about.

Holy crap I didn't even know Danny Elfman was on there. I'm still not sure between him and Uematsu though.

John Williams. My back-up choice would be Alan Silvestri.

What about Basil Poledouris. His Conan the Barbarian soundtrack was incredible.

Thought Hans Zimmer would be up there. However I voted for John Williams and would have regardless.
Schindlers List is for me, the perfect score. I have loads of his stuff on CD and now my iPod. John Williams is the man.
