I remember there were a lot of rumors throughout the early 90's about surfer Sting jumping to the WWF. Say he did anytime between 1992-1996.
What happens here? Does the WWF completely change it's history? Does Vince push Sting right to the top immediately?
He fit everything they were looking for in the 90s and he was over the top enough.
But where does that leave Bret, Diesel and Shawn as WWF Championships if Sting came in?
I definitely could've seen a Sting vs. Yokozuna feud.
Thoughts?

Several years back, someone posed the idea of Sting being the one to answer Yoko's challenge on the USS Intrepid and I loved it.

Vince McMahon always had a hard-on for Ultimate Warrior despite the litigation and disagreements.
Getting his tag partner that's a better performer and much nicer person would have easily pushed Sting into Warrior's spot - a solid number 2 (not a shit 😂)

Colorful Sting would have been huge in that era WWF.

He probably would've gotten frustrated with The Kliq's antics, who in turn would politic him to the mid-card and he'd eventually return back to WCW.

Oh man, little me wanted that to happen SO BAD. Sting and Bret Hart were my heroes (I didn't really care much about anyone else in WCW pre-NWO) and I'd fantasize about them teaming up and doing duel SDL/Sharpshooters.
To answer the question, he would've thrived. They were desperate for stars, plus his surfer vibe fit that era perfectly. On top of that, he was simply really, really good. He'd have most likely been the guy they wanted Lex to be.

If he did go back and Hogan was still the third man it would make the NWO Sting story better.

I think he fit better in WCW at that time. Surfer Sting had an 80's style big energy with the screaming promos and such. He fit in great around the likes of Hogan, Savage, Flair, Vader, etc. WWF by 1994-95 was a bit different. I think Sting cutting the loud, over the top promos and yelling "WOOOOO!" would've come off kind of corny around more lower key guys like Bret, Diesel, Razor, Shawn, Undertaker, etc.

As a performer very well (likely would have made the New Generation a lot more successful) but for his personal life it is probably better he wasn't a part of it

Sting was practically born to perform a terrible song about himself on "WrestleMania: The Album."

Sting was practically born to perform a terrible song about himself on "WrestleMania: The Album." He’d perform it with the rock star Sting

Damn, now I wished it would have happened. Sting vs Michaels in their prime, no wait Sting vs the Undertaker in their prime!

Especially if Sting arrived dressed like this: Would have been believable too as prior to that he was able to slam Vader, who wasn't that much smaller than Yoko.

Probably, he’d be at least a two time world champion, likely trading the title with Bret and Diesel.
He’s all-American, he could work, and he had energy on the mic and he had the body, so I think Bret and Shawn have to chase him somewhat because Sting in WWF would check so many of Vince’s “boxes”.

Would they have let him come in as Sting, though?

Would they have let him come in as Sting, though? Back then, while it did happen to some people, WWF wasn't AS change-happy with guys coming from competition. Steiners, Flair, Luger all got to keep their names when they came over, and while I wasn't watching at the time I would think, even ignoring Luger's appearance on that Superboy show, Sting would have been a bigger than Luger at the time. I could be wrong on that admittedly, but either way I could see him keeping the Sting name in WWF (especially if what I heard is true that the singer actually pays the wrestler a small royalty of some sort to use the name Sting).
