SD Just Bring It is pretty lackluster but i found some of the menu music to be very soothing and entrancing. It’s also cool that Jerry Lynn made it into one WWF/E game I guess lol

Here Comes The Pain isn't a wrestling game; it's a fighting game based on wrestling. There's zero psychology to matches, and once you figure out the meta (just move quickly) you're unbeatable.

I disagree, HCTP is the first of the SD games to show any sort of psychology while still retaining the fast arcadey gameplay. Weight classes actually effect gameplay, you can target limbs, characters will actually sell hurt body parts, falling large distances will actually have consequences, wrestlers can now drag themselves to the ropes in certain submissions making ring positioning a thing, you can now drag your opponent away from the ropes for a pin. There's much more to HCTP than the previous four games of just get your finisher.

No Mercy mods are just a total pain to install, want to try out a few but can never get them to work, if only there was a "just open this and it's done" way to set them up.

No Mercy was so much fun but hated that erase data glitch. I think this is the top answer for me. Things that took me hours to beat just f***ing gone. Multiple times, even when I got a second copy.

Can I play Wrestlemania XIX on the Wii?
Recently came into possession of one and I've been hearing about the story mode in XIX forever. I just need a Gamecube controller, right?

Provided it's a regular Wii, you just need the controller. If it's one of the later model thin Wiis it won't play Gamecube games.

Raw 2's gameplay is just not very good at all, but the season mode makes it worth it to me. There's just so much you can do in it. It handles feuds pretty well without them getting worn out, setting traps is hilarious and fun, it's multiplayer, and just all of the different interactions and stuff you can do is great. Plus, it doesn't take wrestler gender into account. Lita won the WWE Championship when I was playing with friends once. It ruled. Day of Reckoning 2 is one of the greatest wrestling games of all time from a gameplay standpoint, it does all of the stuff that I wished the Smackdown series would've done, despite being from the same developer. Being able to interrupt moves other wrestlers were doing was cool. The submission system was interesting and fun. It was gorgeous. But that roster. Hoo boy. It's an extremely bad roster. I feel like DOR's storyline was an exercise in trying to piss you off too. Match with Batista where you have to get DQed but it implies you're supposed to cheat to win? Fatal 4 way cage match where you have to win by escape, also the Stunner is the only finisher fast and effective enough to do that? who wrote this?

Don't forget the cage match with Cena where he's the goddamn Terminator. Though that SummerSlam four way is by far the worst of it. In general cage matches in DoR2 are just a nightmare. The game's stamina system is so unforgiving that you basically have to have nearly maxed out stamina to actually escape and that's very difficult to do while also having them down for long enough to not stop you. See also the submission match with Kurt Angle where it is very easy to run out of time between how good his submission skills are and the stamina system.

The talk of cage matches reminds me of something I liked about Wrestlemania X8: Cage matches in that game are piss easy. Wait until the computer tries to climb, throw them off, repeat until you get a finisher, use finisher, then climb out. Multi person cage matches are tougher, but one on one? Hardly a problem.

As massive of a step down from Here Comes the Pain as it is, it'll never not be funny that SmackDown vs. Raw features Undertaker at WrestleMania in a ladder match clusterf*** for Trish's panties. Especially with how obviously miserable he is recording his lines for it.

I remember the cage match in No Mercy being infuriating, but I also am sure it'd probably not be as bad now given I'd know about ways to cheese it.

Especially with how obviously miserable he is recording his lines for it. NewLegacyInc playing SmackDown vs. Raw was hilarious. The Undertaker stole their girl and he was like "See you around boyyyyyy." To contribute to the thread: SmackDown vs. Raw 2006 having Jake Roberts tied to the PSP was bullshit. I eventually did it and it was cool, but still, they couldn't think of another way to have Jake Roberts unlocked? Stone Cold doesn't have his vest in Just Bring It; Edge, Jericho, and Carlito don't have their entrance attires in SVR 2006; and they really messed up Hollywood Rock's entrance in 2K14. All decent games, but the little details matter, too, y'know.
