So, from the land of EWR:
I'm working on a serious diary to be posted somewhere else. The premise is NWA getting a TV deal the same night as the Reclaiming the Glory Tournament final. Currently hired 34 of the 35 workers I need to get started. Hit a snag because I can't find anyone who would make sense as Commissioner. I wanted a former NWA Champion or someone with at least a strong affiliation with the NWA of old. I considered Dan Severn, but his charisma is a 30. Cornette is with TNA and honestly... no. Piper would be a good choice, but he's on an open contract with WWE, so he'd be near impossible to get. Shane Douglas was my ironic choice, but he's with TNA and would make zero sense in 2007.
Here are some of the options I have:
Bob Backlund Bret Hart Chris Jericho Don Callis Simon Diamond
Also, for the lulz, I'll throw Razor Ramon Hard Gay in there.
Thoughts? (please don't actually say RRHG, I want this to be a serious diary!)

He is still an active wrestler in this mod. Harley Race, short of that Mr. Bob Backlund or Razor Ramon Hard Gay would be good

Ryker’s already been in and out, beating Gulak for Main Event. If we’re being consistent about our treatment of that show and anyone who gets booked on it, that must mean they’re not THAT interested in pushing him.
Carrillo v Garza is the other match being taped.

OK, going with Bob Backlund, then. Magic knows Black Lives Matter , I swear I'm not ripping you off! EDIT: shit, Backlund's with TNA, too! (it wouldn't make sense to sign guys from TNA, due to the NWA/TNA split that led to the tournament)

True, but it was silent for his match last week. Not negative like Kross', SILENT. I can't remember the last time a crowd sat on their hands for an entire match, to the point they were piping in laughably fake cheers.

I don't understand what they're doing with Garza. They need to get him or Carrillo moved to Smackdown. It's like every time it looks like he's getting a push, they put him on Main Event or take him off TV entirely. He's a talented guy, but I dunno, it just makes it really hard for me to care about him anymore.

What's the difference between Charlotte Flair and Charlotte from Charlotte's Web?
One is revolting, disgusting, and a creature from our nightmares, and the other's a spider.

Charlotte Flair should win MITB next year and cash in on herself.
