That "focus on younger talent" thing's kinda weird given NXT's current climate. Nobody in NXT is really old nor does anyone really have a lot of "NXT TV time" and the ones that are the closest are their most popular guys like Ciampa and Gargano. I'm not sure what they plan on doing but if you ask me they were doing a great job with it already with the likes of Austin Theory, Indi Hartwell and MSK. Bring in newer talent, have them show out a bit and work with the veterans and in turn they get over, common sense. Basically, they were already focusing on younger talent.

Restating "This is the pipeline to the main roster, get people TV ready, train them from scratch if you've got to, but anyone who is ready for TV needs to be finished up by October" doesn't need need major structural changes, it just needs a handful of call-ups. Which makes me hesitant and doubtful about the real outcome of these measures. Although as someone who doesn't watch NXT but f***ed with MSK for years, hearing them sent up as young talent NXT is doing a great job with warms my dead heart.

I don't know what a Tough Enough / Diva Search hybrid show would look like, but I think we may find out. Wouldn't that have been NXT Season 1-5 but just with young talent instead of Nobody's on past Tough Enoughs and Diva Searches? USA Network in a few days/weeks/months when these changes fully set in: Triple H Then: "Billy, le'ts be honest. He will buy that pissant company just to fire you again." Triple H Now: "NO DAD NO!!!! WHY ME!?!? WHY ME!?!?"

Yeah and that was the blueprint for years and only recently has it changed. Strowman was the first real guy I remember called up early without being a complete package and/or main eventer in NXT and even then he was a one off. Afterwards we've seen random people called up no matter what their skill level and tv time is whether it's Lacey Evans or Humberto. Now we get this and it's like well, the entire point of the NXT system's changing once again. I'd hate being Triple H and his people right now because that place is wild.
Yeah MSK's one of the best parts of NXT right now. They're doing very well and once they go to the main roster in the future they're gonna be a major highlight.

Well, as shitty as this is going to sound I wasn't surprised that they released him. He hasn't been used on tv since February 2020. I don't know what a Tough Enough / Diva Search hybrid show would look like, but I think we may find out. Wouldn't that have been NXT Season 1-5 but just with young talent instead of Nobody's on past Tough Enoughs and Diva Searches?insert quote here Yep that's correct.

Oh, hunter. Really what shocks me more than anything is NXT UK hasn't been completely shuttered at this point But I feel like the only reason it hasn't is because they desperately do not want to lose WALTER.

NXT UK has a TV deal over there if I recall, and their talent contracts are worth next to nothing as well.

The thing that has been jarring about all of these releases, NXT and main roster, is how sudden and without any thought behind them that some of them seem.
Bronson Reed was just made North American Champion, then he almost immediately dropped the title because he was getting called up, the call-up doesn’t happen and he gets fired.
Tyler Rust was in a heavily promoted faction that only debuted a few weeks back.
It’s just wild how little communication there seems to be between the people writing and booking shows and the people in charge of personnel. It all seems so haphazard.

The new lighting will be just one shade darker of yellow. And after two weeks Vince loses interest anyway and it quietly changes back to the previous lighting.

Worth noting that PWInsider mentioned in a previous article that all of the cuts are due to the new CFO and Nick Khan not wanting to run in the red even for even the smallest bit of time. THIS is why being a publicly-traded company is poison. Anything and everything to please the shareholders, fans be damned. It comes through in the product. WWE is the brand, not any individual wrestler.

"The company can never be in the red no matter what," is a gigantic recipe for disaster. All it takes is one especially bad quarter and everything falls apart, especially because sooner or later there are no more costs you can cut. The whole thing's artificially inflating the company's value and will eventually collapse.

I get the feeling they’re just going to make it OVW/FCW 2.0(3.0?) maybe with a little more attention paid to it but not as much as NXT has had the last few years. Crazy. Few months back when people on here were like “nxt might die, get revamped etc” and I thought it was crazy talk. Going back to the clone era of former college athletes being recruited to learn to wrestle the wwe style!

Which is why they are selling, once they strip the company of everything long-term, its the buyers problem
