Enjoying it so far, 2nd episode was better than the first. Liking the flashback exploration of how Boba got on before appeared in mandolorian and the slow build of what’s happening in the present day.
My only issue so far is he needs to do smarter and more ruthless stuff, he doesn’t come across as the guy who figured out Han Solo escape from the Star Destroyer or why he wasn’t intimidated by Vader.

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}That scene with the mayor really made Boba come across like a dumbass. First he argues semantics about the throne, then he whines about getting a tribute and it ends with him walking off like a kid who didn't get what he wanted.
Fennec on the other hand is the best part of the show. The f***s she gives are in the negatives and I love every second of it.

I like the flashback stuff a lot better than the "present day" stuff. Jabba despite being a big slob was believable as the crime boss because he had an army of guys working for him. Boba is trying to do it with just 4 people and a single droid? Why would he expect people to go for it especially when he is being such a softy in this and not as much of a bad ass as he had been in the past? What's to keep someone from taking over the palace every time they go into town?

Finally feels like we're making progress. {Spoiler}And of course Danny Trejo would be a rancor trainer in Star Wars.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I didn't see either the Tusken training warrior or the kid's body in the massacre, so, I'd be pretty surprised if they don't turn up later.
The car chase scene was odd. It felt a little weirdly slow despite all efforts otherwise, and a little weightless. On the other hand, as soon as the car chase cliches started appearing I got some enjoyment out of seeing them each happen (the pile of boxes! fruit! two people carrying a sheet of glass/picture of Jabba's court!).
It's tough to try to bring things down to a good threat level without having planet killers or anything. Yet "Oh no, it's the Pykes!" doesn't exactly get my pulse racing.
Bit of a step back after last week. The show is still a worthy watch, and I'm glad we got a lot more of the present-day storyline this episode. Just, the show still so far feels rather unfocused and first draft-y.

Tatooine settlements really aren't suited to vehicular chase sequences.
I think this might be a show that would benefit from spending less time with the protagonist. If you've got double dealing and backstabbing going on, spending time with all the various factions would help. As it is, it does feel a bit like a series of fetch quests.

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Of course with anything Star Wars related there is speculation that something is connected to another.
This time the new Rancor is speculated to be the baby Rancor Muchi from the animate series The Bad Batch.

Because of how the flashbacks are woven, I'm assuming the Sand People will be "his army/goons" This is my presumption as well through what I have so far watched. I also figure he isn't quite as ruthless cause maybe the crew in The Mandalorian have rubbed off on him. I think so far everyone is sorta treating him like a joke but sooner or later he is gonna have to turn it up if being a crime boss is really what he wants (I think that may be up in the air as well).

I suspect it's following story not to dissimilar from the first Godfather. All the other families underestimate Michael Corleone and don't take him seriously, and he outsmarts them all. I expect that by the end of the show Boba will have solidified his rule, unless they have a second season in mind.

Three episodes in, this story feels more like The Book of Boba Flatt.

More random thoughts - {Spoiler}The scene where Boba goes to the biker gang kids feels like something that should have happened in episode one. Early episode one. When he's getting his tribute, somebody comes to him about the kids harassing people, he confronts them, recruits them. Later in the episode he goes to confront the Mayor when he's attacked by the space ninjas. The kids show up and kick the ninjas asses, then Boba goes all "I'm in charge now, deal with it". Him actually having a crew from the start would go a long way to not make him look like a naive bumpkin in over his head making threats he has no way to act on.
Episode two I would've devoted entirely to the Hutt arc. Start the episode with them threatening Boba, claiming the planet, end with them warning him about the Pikes and leaving. There was no need to stretch that over two episodes.
The whole show just feels like it could be better paced.

I’m enjoying the show, kinda don’t like Boba’s characterization in this. I understand we’re supposed to like him but I’d rather see him be a little more ruthless. Still like the show though, just kinda went a different with the character than I expected.

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Another random thought: I just found it hilarious that Stephen Root and Danny Trejo just randomly showed up in a Star Wars . I'm not complaining, it just makes me smile.
