I watched Survivor Series '93 dozens of times and always felt like I knew who the Black Knight was under the mask. Then many years later I found out and it was like... that's the most obvious thing ever.

Thinking that because Lead Commentator Vince McMahon owned WWF (pre-screwjob), Lead Commentator Tony Schiavone must have owned WCW.
I had no idea who Ted Turner was at the time.

The "Figure four leglock" gets its name from putting the opponent's legs in the literal figure of the number "4."
As a kid I thought it was because it took four steps to apply, as the 16-bit video games had it as a four part animation.

That Arn really wasn't a true Anderson. This isn't something that really fits with the thread, but it hurt to find out Arn Anderson wasn't really from Minnesota. It's like finding out Jake Roberts wasn't really from Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Yeah, Akam and Rezar = "Occam's Razor", the problem-solving principle that basically means "Don't over-complicate explanations without necessity". That's not what Occam's Razor is. It's "without other evidence, the simplest explanation is almost definitely the truth" That's an incorrect paraphrase. math.ucr.edu/home/baez/physics/General/occam.html

The reason Val Venis’ special move was called The Money Shot This is my go-to response. Any of his promos with sexual innuendos, but this one took the cake for me when I was 12. It took me years to finally get it. "The Big Valbowski has arrived to the Big Apple. I came, I saw, and I came again." Yeah, I was 12 when I first heard it. It made a lot more sense when I got older.

I was maybe 6 years old, watching Continental with my dad, my uncle, and my mom's uncle. Dr. Tom Prichard came to the ring with his nurse.
My uncle said, "Look at that. He don't know what to do with that."
My mom's uncle, who was was older and in poor health, replied, "I know what to do with it, I just can't anymore."
It took a few years for me to catch up to that one.

I’m sure the Figure 8 is even more confusing, since it really doesn’t resemble an 8 at all.

I also wonder if maybe the opponent's body is thought to resemble a fishing rod when held like that, with the curled leg being a reel, but the hook is the simple bit to say with certainty. The Scorpion Hold (Deathlock, Sharpshooter), though, is much simpler. Imagine the opponent if the wrestler administering the move was invisible. They are contorted to resembling a scorpion, the hands like the pincers, and their legs, the tail.

Whenever JR called a Lou Thesz Press in Shut Your Mouth, as a kid I thought he was saying "Two best friends "

A non-wrestling one?
I didn't realize the Cadmus Clones (aka. the Ultimen) were modeled after the original characters from the DC Super Friends cartoon until much later.

I just found out today that Hook in AEW is Taz's son. I did not know that. Having watched Taz talk about how good Hook's hair is and that he gets it from his mom, I can only assume you either don't watch Dark or found it tremendously creepy until this realisation
