Lasted a season and a half; should have run longer than 'Gunsmoke'.

A few years back, NBC ran a sitcom called Powerless, set in the DC universe, about the pitfalls of ordinary people. Had a solid cast, including Danny Pudi from Community, Ron Funches, Alan Tudyk, and Vanessa Hudgens as the main star. Jokes were weak, the show ran about 6 of its 13 episodes. The only reason the season finale saw the light of day was because Adam West was a guest star and he had just passed away. So that got released to Youtube. Powerless had its concept changed at some point but I dont know how early in the development. It was originally about an insurance company dealing with superhero related damages. IIRC they changed it as this was too similar to the Incredibles. I think it would also have been hard to empathize with characters who work for an insurance company.

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

Oh, another one - Phenom - starring Judith Light (Who's the Boss?) as the single mother of a young tennis prodigy and William Devane as said prodigy's intrusive tennis coach. Despite being in all 22 episodes, Devane's name never appeared in the shows credits due to a pissing contest between him and Light over who should get top billing ("if I can't get top billing, then I don't want any billing at all!"). I remember it best though for starring a pre-Kes Jennifer Lien as the older brothers girlfriend. Also- the Phenom in question? A 10-year-old Ashley Johnson post-Growing Pains. Close. Johnson plays the bratty sister. The Tennis Phenom is played by Angela Goethals (Kevin, you're what the French call Les incompetents)

The Trouble With Larry from 1993 which was Bronson Pinchot's first sitcom gig after Perfect Strangers ended the previous year.
Pinchot played the titular Larry whom was a sailor that was presumed to be lost at sea and when he came back to his home he discovered his wife had remarried, and of course in true sitcom fashion he moved in with them where supposedly wacky hijinks would have ensued.

Mentioned it, loved it when I was a kid. Glenn Scarpelli is a FB friend. With modern shows, I liked The Real O'Neals which only lasted 2 seasons.

So the guy who played Balki went on to play a character named Larry. The creators must have known what they were doing there.

Cavemen starring the Geico Cavemen.
And I freaking loved it.
They didn't even air every episode they produced in most countries, but they aired in Australia and I bought a bootleg DVD of it.
Edit: Vashondude beat me to it.

I have seen someone on TikTok do that original concept for a series and it was fairly funny in 1 minute bursts at least. My favorite being the girl realising from a calm that an Avengers incident is actually moving their way, and running to move her car before Hulk can throw it.

Two more that came to mind during my day -
Nearly Departed - Eric Idle stars as a deceased English Professor who, along with his wife, haunts their old home after a new family moves into it. I don't know why this one stuck with me as much as it did.
The Boys are Back - Hal Linden and Suzanne Pleshette star as a retired couple who's quiet life gets turned upside down when their two sons personal lives fall apart and are forced to move back in with their parents, and one of them brings their wife and kids with him. I remember this show mostly because of one joke Linden and Pleshette did about naps that I thought was hilarious at the time and a million times better then any joke or scenario the show did otherwise.

Remember when Sabrina became a hit for ABC so they turned TGIF into an almost all supernatural block (Boy Meets World the lone exception). First was Teen Angel where a teens best friend died and became his guardian angel. It survived long enough to be retooled dropping the mom (Maureen McCormick!) and adding a dad. It also had Ron Glass as Gods brother Rod. The other was You Wish about a family with a genie.

That was around the same time Step by Step & Family Matters left the block and migrated over to CBS for its final seasons. Another sitcom that premiered around the same time but on NBC was the office sitcom Working with Fred Savage as the show's lead. We even got some Wonder Years cast reunions in the show's 2 year span, notably Danica McKellar (Winnie) who played the boss's daughter in a number of episodes. They even had the actor that played Kevin's brother and dad on there too.

It also had Ron Glass as Gods brother Rod. The other was You Wish about a family with a genie. They did a theme night with those four shows too. Salem the Cat ate some time traveling cat food and went into the other shows and took the characters to different time periods. Jerry Van Dyke was part of the Teen Angel tv show first and then he joined You Wish in it's third episode. So he was on two TGIF show at the same time as two different characters. The next tv season, TGIF went back to family-centric sitcoms like Brother's Keeper, about an NFL player moving in with his College Professor brother and nephew. Not as short-lived as the others, it had a full season order of 23 episodes and Two of a Kind, a Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen show. Most people have forgotten Dan Aykroyd's sitcome Soul Man, technically a two season show, but its first season was only 3 episodes and overall only has 25 episodes.

Back in the 70’s there was a series that lasted about half a season called “Hot l Baltimore”. It was about a beat up old residential hotel and the wacky people who lived there. And the name is because the “E” was burned out on the Hotel sign, which shows you how hilarious the series was.
“Top of the Heap” was the attempt to spin a show off of Married With Children. It was Matt Leblanc and Joseph Bologna and a bunch of really terrible scripts.

Men Behaving Badly, I remember it was hilariously funny to teenage me. Had Rob Schneider in it.
Shasta Mcnasty was another one I remember liking.

That 80s show. I watched it several years after it aired. Wasn't bad, but definitely understand why it didn't last.
Boston Common I rememeber being on USA network in the am a few years after it aired along with the single guy and some so right. I always thought it was weird they would show reruns of them, even though none of the shows were on for very long.

American TV seasons vs British ones. The American lasted 2 years. The first year had Rob Schneider and another guy who had a girlfriend played by Justine Bateman. They decided for the second year that they needed 2 single guys so they replaced other guy with a fresh off The State Ken Marino. Didnt save it.

The original replaced one of the protagonists after the first series too, which interestingly had the opposite effect, and the first series isn't really viewed that favourably. Personally I liked it.
