Domino Rally for me. I saw those commercials and thought it was incredibly cool, then I got a set and I couldnt even get the dominos to stand up. Huge waste of money.

I was so insanely pumped to get my hands on some Creepy Crawlers as, like, a six year old, and then they ended up basically just being a science project I had to do with my mom, and they didn't end up looking anywhere near as cool as they did on the commercials.

The Nintendo Power Glove.
I saw this commercial:
and it looked so cool. And it looked like it was really easy to use. And fun!
The reality was a different experience, of course... It was nearly impossible to control your character or spaceship or race car or whatever and all it really did was frustrate me and make my arm sore.

The Atari 5200. It was awesome at first, but then the controllers quit working and we couldn't get replacements because the console had already been discontinued.

Ravishing Rick Rude LJN.
If he took his hands out of his f***ing pants, maybe he wouldn’t have been a jobber.

I had tons of those as well as the loose hot wheels track pieces... they pretty much dominated my parent's basement when I was a lad Probably the Virtual Boy. I loved Telero boxer and a couple of the other games I had... but it was hard to play even before my stand broke and other than the few games I really liked the rest were a pain to play.

First game I played was Mike Tyson's punch out assuming I could just throw hands at the screen, instead I just ducked and threw easily blocked body blows to Glass Joe before he knocked me out. I’m shocked that thing ever made it to market. It was broken

Honestly, for me, the most disappointing was the Incredible Crash Dummies toys, because they never worked quite like the commercials said they would. Plus, it was way too easy to lose the parts of the individual dummies. Yet, I remember having two different versions of each of the main four dummies, and the villain, AND the exclusive that came with the VHS AND two motorcycles lol

I went to a carnival that came into town. Worked real hard to win a prize. Got a toy car. Took it home, took it out of the packet, put it on the floor to roll it across the room, and its wheel fell of in its first use.
I learned a lesson that day, friends.

I went straight back to the Beast Wars.
