Lmao in retrospect I should have thought about clicking the link Him not mentioning it was a free post on his Patreon was kinda funky and I can't tell if he f***ed up the setting or if he's just forgotten how to post to the website he's managing editor of and the 20-year old 'tech support' he's relying on is drunk under a Christmas tree for the fourth night in a row unaware it's no longer Christmas. Something tells me he just quietly made it a public post given the subject matter. If you go to Patreon without being logged in, you still can't read most of the other content.

Still a pretty bare bones report, that definitely needs some extra detail, and doesn't mention why the top brass are missing tonight, but it's all a shit situation and WWE definitely isnt helping itself regardless

'Least I know when I'll likely be tapping out. I do kind of want to see the vow segment just to see if they actually have the balls to do something with Miz and Maryse that isn't generic heel stuff the way they seem to love doing with Miz.

I can't even joke about it anymore, because the WWE's stupidity just isn't funny at this point.

Yours is more realistic but mine involves a man wrapped in Christmas lights screaming in his half-slumber about how Rudolph is a bitch he will fight and looping a Youtube video of All I Want For Christmas is You where the 'you' is replaced by the Soulja Boy 'you' because no matter how many times you play it it's still the funniest thing in the world to him. So with all due respect I know which one I'm keeping with here.

Might watch purely for the in-ring action. All of these people can go in the ring.

This could potentially have a defense to it if WWE had a company-wide, strictly enforced vaccination mandate, and laid out something along the lines of "going by the guidances currently provided by the CDC and other authorities, the trend appears to be that the Omicron variant is far less virulent than the Delta strain for vaccinated people. With that in mind, we will be reducing testing requirements for all (vaccinated) talent, but will implement some controls concerning distance between talent and fans in crowds", etc.
Even then, though? Still no good, at least in my anecdotal experience. My sister-in-law's family is getting rocked by the new strain right now; they've got their shots, but some of her family members are still down for the count with this thing, albeit thankfully without requiring something like hospitalization. Hopefully it's just like a bad cold or case of the flu for them, but given how little we still know about "long COVID" that's not a chance I'd want to take.
Secondly, the concern for most vaccinated people is the people in their lives who aren't or can't be vaccinated. Obviously if someone is actively choosing not to vaccinate then they're a damn fool, but lots of the wrestlers have small children at home, or perhaps elderly relatives, or relatives who have compromised immune systems...some of the wrestlers themselves have that, including your biggest star! If I'm a wrestler with, say, a three year old kid at home, I damn well want to be tested before I risk coming home and potentially being an asymptomatic carrier who gives this damn thing to my own child.
And ultimately, to the best of my knowledge WWE does not have a company-wide vaccination mandate, so good lucky navigating that as you ask your wrestlers to criss-cross the planet and go to tons of different places with wildly varying COVID protections standards (or utter lack thereof).
Testing really is the least they can do for these guys; if nothing else, it's a source of peace of mind. My girlfriend works in medicine and gets regularly tested at her job; the wrestlers might not be doctors or nurses, but they absolutely work in a high-risk profession and deserve some security, here.

There's no getting around it. They're all just going to be exposed 100%.
You may as well already consider them exposed.

Mask mandate back in effect backstage.
Here’s Meltzer’s report:

If they are actually that strict on the mask mandate and if people can sit out if they choose, then I don’t have much of a problem with what they are doing. The omicron variant doesn’t seem deadly as it does contagious. Plus more people are getting vaccinated And other leagues are doing it as well.

Masks backstage doesn't mean a whole helluva lot when any time they're in the ring they'll be right up on each other the entire time. Not like it's an office gig where you can sit 6 feet apart or whatever

Yeah, mask mandates feel like barely anything considering, as Kevin mentioned, the big part of their jobs is to take off the mask and go into a crowd of people who likely won’t be wearing masks because of the arena’s own mandates.

Honestly if they took thr approach a lot of businesses are saying in that if you are vaccinated/asymptomatic you will not be required to get a test/quarantine that's one thing as a lot of companies are doing that... and still requiring stricter measures if you are not vaccinated. That's one thing. But yeah doesn't seem to be the steps
